Her children by her first husband, John BUTCHER (ba.1816) he born in Cambridgeshire, England and died before the 1861 census, he is listed in the 1841 & 1851 census: (1) James (ba.1837/41), married Mary HAMLIN (ba.1830), they settled in Chautauqua Co. (2) Sophia (ba.1842), married Jonas AYERS (ba.1839), they settled in Chautauqua Co. (3) Caroline (ba.1844), unknown who she married and whether she emigrated. (4) Richard (ba.1846), married Susan Smith GOATE (ba.1845), they settled in Chautauqua Co. (1861 names him John) (5) Eber (ba.1848), married Rachel MOTT (ba.1850), they settled in Chautauqua Co. (1851,61,71 names him Edner / Layton) (6) William (ba.1848), unknown who he married and whether he emigrated. (7) Susan (ba.1851), emigrated, then married in 1875 in Dunkirk, Chautauqua Co. to James Atkinson TAYLOR (ba.1850) (1851 names her Eliza) These following children could either have been by her first or second husband, the ten years between census makes it uncertain: (8) George (ba.1853), unknown who he married and whether he emigrated (9) Eliza (ba.1855), unknown who she married and whether she emigrated. (10) Ellen (ba.1859), unknown who she married and whether she emigrated. (1871 names her Helena) (11) Harriett (ba.1860, born in Wicken, Cambridgeshire, England, unknown who she married and whether she emigrated. Daughter by her second husband, James BUTCHER (ba.1806), also born in Wicken, Cambridgeshire, England and died 1886, he is listed in the 1861, 1871, & 1881 census. (12) Ann Elizabeth (ba.1863), born in Wicken, Cambridgeshire, England, unknown who she married and whether she emigrated. James BUTCHER brought two children into this family: (1) Charles (ba.1828), born in Wicken, Cambridgeshire, England. (2) Sarah (ba.1831), born in Wicken, Cambridgeshire, England, this step-daughter alone is listed with Sophia in the 1891 Census. I know that five of these twelve children came to Chautauqua County, were there any more that emigrated and to where ? What was the relationship of the two husbands, John (ba.1816) & James (ba.1806), were they possibly brothers ? Where exactly is Wicken located, many of the related families came from Sutton, Littleport, Earith, & Ely all in a concentrated area just north of Cambridge ? I also still question the possible relationship of John and/or James to Robert Sr. (ba.1825), born in Earith, whose eldest son Robert (ba.1851) settled in Cassadaga, Chautauqua Co., NY, I have posted a separate query on him. All the children were probably born in Wicken, but I referenced it only if I found in the 1881 census. These and many more questions still remain for me about this family, I would appreciate any guidance, thank you. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 1. Re: [NYCHAUTA] Death notice or obit_help please for ROCKETT, Reginald Charles Nov 1979

    3. Well .... I find his marriage record to Maude, 5 Sep 1919 in Wentworth, Canada. This shows his middle name was Charles. Oddly, there is another record for Reginald Charles Rocket (b. abt 1896) who was also married in Wentworth, to Harriet Brine on 31 Jul 1917. One of the public trees I find at ancestry.com indicates this is the same Reginald Rockett, married twice. I'm not sure though, as the dates and parentage are off. In any event, I find one census for a Reginald Rocket, in 1901 in Somerset, England. The parents match the marriage record with Maude. But the middle initials do not. These are the details: 1901 England Census about Reginald A A Rockett Name: Reginald A A Rockett Age: 6 Estimated Birth Year: abt 1895 Relation: Son Father's Name: Edward O T Mother's Name: Mary J Gender: Male Where born: West Monkton, Somerset, England Civil Parish: West Monkton Ecclesiastical parish: West Monkton Town: Bathpool County/Island: Somerset Country: England Street address: Occupation: Condition as to marriage: Education: Employment status: View Image Registration district: Taunton Sub registration district: North Curry ED, institution, or vessel: 8 Neighbors: View others on page Household schedule number: 18 Household Members: Name Age Edward O T Rockett 45 Mary J Rockett 32 Wallace F W Rockett 13 Agnes M S Rockett 9 Reginald A A Rockett 6 George Smith 33 I also find a public tree which shows only one child for Reginald and Maude, a son, Lawrence, who only lived for 1 month, 15 days. The details from the Ontario death record for him is below: Name: Ontario Canada Deaths, 1869-1932 Author: Publisher: Hamilton, Wentworth County, Ontario; 1920 Call Number: Notes: Rockett, Lawrence Reginald Place of Death: General Hospital Age: 1 mon, 15 days Marital status: single Date of Birth: 21 Mar 1920 Place of birth: Hamilton Name of Father: Reginald C. I would be happy to copy any of these for you, if you are interested. 1901 Canadian Census 1901 England Census (the one shown above) England and Wales, Civil Registration Index - 1837-1936 Vol. 5c, Page 295 (Birth) Ontario Canada Deaths, 1869-1932 Ontario Marriage Index, 1858-1899 Ontario Marriage Index, 1858-1899 Registration of a Birth Will of Anstey Wilson Rockett Will of Gerald Frederick Rockett I also found all of this at http://www.kdvkfamilytree.50megs.com/3798.htm I had no luck in finding an obituary or death notice. Robert (ba.1851) was the s/o Robert (ba.1826) born in Earith, Huntingdonshire, England & Hannah (ba.1830), she died before the 1861 census, not much is known of her except that she left five children: (1) Sarah (ba.1849) - Listed in the 1851 & 1861 census (2) Robert (ba.1851) - Listed in the 1851 & 1861 census, married in England, three of his five children were born in England, his eldest, Joseph, was born 13 May 1873 in Prickwillow, Cambridgeshire, England. The family emigrated to the US in 1880, their fourth child, Emma was born 12 Sep 1881 in Russell, Warren County, Pennsylvania. Their 5th child Emma (1891-1891) is buried in Cassadaga. (3) Joseph (ba.1853) - Listed in the 1861 thru 1901 England Census, married Hannah (ba.1851) born in Doddington, Cambridgeshire, England, they had two children, Agnes E. (ba.1877) & William I. (ba.1888), both also born in Sutton. (4) Mary (ba.1856) - Listed only in 1861, a short listing, either married early, deceased , or resided with a relative. (5) Hannah (ba.1859) - Listed in 1861 & 1871 Census location Sutton, Cambridgeshire, England for all years (1851 thru 1901), apparently all of the children were born there. Robert (Sr) went on to marry twice more, second wife was Mary (ba.1815/21) born in Witcham, Cambridgeshire, England, she is listed in the 1871 & 1881 Census). Third wife was Eleanor / Ellen (ba.1824/21) born in Cambridgeshire, England, she is listed in the 1891 & 1901 Census. I am looking for confirmation to the above, plus any additional information, and whether any others in this family emigrated. I had previously believed that Robert of Cassadaga was a brother of Richard of Lamberton, Pomfret Township, but this is not the case.
