Beside her husband she leaves one daughter, Miss Edna Marie Johnson of Celoron; three sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Lee Maxwell of Grand Bay, Ala., Mrs. Mary Campbell of Lynchburg, Va., and Mrs. Emma Graham of Missouri Valley, Ia., Charles Morgan of Chicago, Ill., and Arthur Morgan of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Mrs. Johnson had been ill for five years. She was born in Sweden but had lived in this country for 65 years. Burial was in Lake View Cemetery, Jamestown, NY.

Family history says they came from Schenectady Co.; however, John SWART and Mary ROWLAND SWART came from Herkimer Co. because their son, Theron C., was b. there in July 1949. There are ROWLAND'S in Herkimer Co. So, are they the Herkimer or Schenectady Co. ROWLANDS??!! There is a William ROWLAN in Russia, Herkimer Co., in 1840. Sometimes Coonrad's name was spelled without the "D" on the end. Additionally, William ROWLAND'S father is also WILLIAM who, again according to family history, served in the War of 1812. I have NOT been able to verify that fact at all. Any help would be appreciated. Would love to find new cousins and share research! His wife, Polly, born in 1783, became a widow and married James Taylor of Ripley, NY. on August 12, 1836. In the 1880 Census, Sheridan, N.Y., She was listed as Polly Brigham, age 97. Ephraim Jones Aug 13, 1842; settled in Portland . Mr. Jones died at Dunkirk Feb 10, 1862, and Mrs. Jones three days later. The death of Mrs. Jones was occasioned by injuries received by being thrown from a wagon by a passing locomotive. Both lower limbs were horribly mangled and were amputated the next day. The death of Mr. Jones was occasioned by the rupture of a blood vessel on first witnessing the awful condition of his wife. They were buried in Sheridan.
