She is survived by her daughter, Irene Higgs of Jamestown, six grandchildren: Robert Cross of Fort Mills, S.C., Brian and Steven Cross, both of Phoenix, Ariz., Jeff Lawson of Batavia, Penny Field of Jamestown, and Todd Lawson of Gerry; four great-grandchildren; two sisters: Ruth O'Brien of Ashville and Frances Brown of Tucson, Ariz.; and three brothers: Charles ''Bud'' Nieder of Falconer, Paul Nieder of Jamestown and William Nieder of Jamestown. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Clayton C. Cross, whom she married Aug. 3, 1935, and who died May 12, 2000; a son, Gerald Cross on July 25, 1991; and two brothers: Gordon Nieder on Nov. 8, 1995, and Dona! ld Nieder on July 22, 1997. Burial will be in Red Bird Cemetery, Ellery.

A member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, she had been active in the church's Esther Circle, Fellowship Guild and Sunshine Society. She is survived by a daughter, Roselyn M. Eggleston of Jamestown; a granddaughter, Lisa M. Gustafson of Jamestown; and two great-grandsons. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Edward Young; and a sister, Grace E. Young, who died Dec. 28, 1999. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Key Lanphere, whom he married Sept. 2, 1956, in the Ivory Baptist Church; three sons: Jerry A. Tellinghuisen of Jamestown, Randy James Tellinghuisen of New York City and Roger A. Tellinghuisen of Bemus Point; a daughter, Brenda L. He even sent me a picture of Harriet Matilda Tyler David. His name is John Zimmerman. It has been a number of years since I talked to him. Do you have the Davis line back to Peter Davis and his wife May Shorey? I have not had much luck with Harriet's family. Her father's name was John Tyler and her mother's name was Abigail. I don't know her last name. Harriet had four brothers: Aden, Alvin, Eugene and Thalla. What kind of genealogy program do you have? I have Family Tree Maker. I can send you a GED file if you like.

She enjoyed reading and was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. At the time of her high school graduation she was awarded a college scholarship, but declined it, choosing to stay home and help raise her brothers and sister. She is survived by four sons: Dr. Terry Toy of Denver, Tom Toy Jr. of Williamsville, Tim Toy of Marilla and Ted Toy of Falconer; two daughters: Tracey Black of Reston, Va., and Marianne Matyas of Boston, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.     3. Strong, Herbert L. Ypsilanti, MI (formerly of Jamestown, NY) Age 90, passed away on Monday, October 10, 2005. He was born the son of Frank and Laura (Peterson) Strong on March 16, 1915 in Jamestown, NY. He graduated Valedictorian of his class from Jamestown High School in 1932. Herbert had belonged to several service organizations, including the Optimist club of Jamestown, NY, and had been a member of the Mount Moriah Lodge, No. 145, F.&A.M. Masonic Temple for 40 years also in Jamestown. He had also served on the Jamestown General Hospital board, and had been with the Jamestown Mutual Insurance Co. for over 30 years retiring as vice-president. Herbert often performed with the Little Theater over the years. He loved to do musical reviews and musical comedy with his daughter, Suellen, and plays with his son Daniel. He is survived by his children, Suellen (Jack) Kurgin of Ypsilanti, MI, Daniel (Roberta) Strong of Rochester, NY, two step-daughters, Brenda (Robert) Franzen of Busti, NY, and Diane (Joe) Swiderski of Great Falls, MT as well as a host of loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family and friends. Herbert was preceded in death by his wife Doris (Pickard) Strong in 1981, his wife Ida (Miniger) Strong in 2000 and his brother, Wallace Strong. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 16, 2005 at the Nie Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 2400 Carpenter Rd. at 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Edmar Services, Inc., 1565 Falahee Rd., Jackson, MI 49203 or to Southern Care, 437 Fern Ave., Jackson, MI 49202. She was a volunteer at the former Jamestown General Hospital, Roger Tory Peterson Institute, American Red Cross and Lutheran Retirement Home. She was a former member of Kane Chapter of Eastern Star, Kane Garden Club, Kane Study Club, Philomathan Club and Community Hospital Auxiliary in Kane. She is survived by a daughter, Roberta S. Hultman of Ebensburg, Pa.; a son, Francis J. Sirianni Jr., of Jamestown; six grandchildren: Jennifer A. DiDonato of Queenstown, Md., Judd A. Hultman of Johnstown, Pa., Justin A. He served as mayor of Falconer from 1966 to 1970. He was president of the Chautauqua County Mayor’s Association from 1969 to 1979 and a member of the Falconer Planning and Zoning Board for 14 years. A Florida resident since 1974, he served as city commissioner from 1990 to 1993, chairman of the South Pasadena Planning and Zoning Board, a member of the city’s Charter Review Commission and Fireman’s Pension Board, and in 2000 served a three-month interim appointment to the City Commission. He was a member! of the Pass-A-Grille Beach Community Church and a 50-year member of the Henry Mosher Post 638 of Falconer. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jeanne Crossley Pugh; two sons: Dr. Steven T. Pugh of Englewood, Colo., and R. Scott Pugh, Esq. of Fredericksburg, Va.; and three grandchildren: Lisa and Courtney Pugh of Englewood and Theodore Clifford ‘‘T.C.’’ Pugh of Fredericksburg. A Jamestown-area resident since 1977, he was born Dec. 8, 1915, in Cheyenne, Wyo., the son of Alexander and Sophia Polgar Kulcsar Sr. He was a 1934 graduate of SBA High School in Topeka, Kan., and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was employed as senior clerk by the city of Detroit for 31 years, retiring in 1972. He was a life member of Herman Kent Post 777 American Legion, Celoron, AM Vets of Detroit and Big Tree Sportsmen's Club. He is survived by his wife, Julia A. Peebles Larson Kulcsar, whom he married Jan. 20, 1979; three grandchildren: Jeaneth Kulcsar of Trabuco Canyon, Calif., Bryon and Alex Kulcsar III, both of Ann Arbor, Mich.; a stepdaughter, Karen M. Frye of Jamestown; two stepgrandchildren: Kathleen M. Bullers of Big Flats and John C. Frye of South Williamsport, Pa.; five step great-grandchildren; and a brother, John Kulcsar! of Riverview, Mich.He was preceded in death by a son, Gary Kulcsar, who died in May 1994; and two brothers: Louis and James Kulcsar. Burial will be in the Lake View Cemetery.
