    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Stafford, Watson, Kilpatrick, Judson, McKee, Richard/Pichard?, Griffith Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/SRB.2ACE/12080 Message Board Post: I've been reading in the daily e-mails all the discussion about Staffords. I considered posting this into that particular discussion, but thought since it's probably a seperate family, I'd post it seperate. I actually have Staffords in my family, unknown to me until about a year ago when my grandmother gave my mom and I the family bible. It was filled in by my great grandmother Gladys Kilpatrick Watson, and well, this is what I've got. John Stafford married Abigail Judson We have two dates for them, but do not know if they are marriages or births or what, or which date belongs to which person. May 5, 1777 and February 10, 1841. Amelia Stafford Married F. Norton Griffith on December 23, 1852 *Mary Augusta Stafford married Calvin E. Kilpatrick *Elizabeth Stafford married Lous J. Richard or Pichard (handwriting hard to read) *A date of December 29, 1864 is near both of these couples, so we don't know which date is theirs. John M. Stafford married Mary Ann McKee December 31, 1835 One of them was born March 25, 1813 and died February 25, 1868* (See below.) We don't have them listed in births but we do have a death section with Staffords. Rovilla A. Stafford March 28, 1851 Abigail Judson Stafford August 14, 1855 John M. Stafford Febraury 25, 1860* (He's above but the year is different so it might be her?) Harriet E. Stafford December 23, 1860 So, do any of these Staffords match with yours? And do you know anything on these Staffords?

Lynn, as I recall went West ( Michigan, Detroit area?) I have to pull some records to confirm. I myself, have most of the younger siblings, what is surprising me are the recent discoveries of the older William and Minerva. Most of the youngest children are buried in Tucker Cemetery. There seem to be some stones missing compared to the previous visit. Though it was nice for the custodian to replace the downed markers with new ones. Another resource is the Cemetery in Ellington( a large Stafford monument with a circle of graves marked w/ "mother" "father" etc. H Trump

She was born March 8, 1916, in Cleveland and adopted by Nina Belle Terrill in 1919. She began her business career in classified advertising in newspapers, including the Jamestown Post-Journal in 1948, The Arizona Daily Star and Tucson Daily Citizen in Arizona in 1950, The Concord Transcript in California in 1960, The San Francisco Progress in 1965 and The Arizona Daily Star and Tucson Daily Citizen in 1977. She began her second full-time career at age 75 as office manager for the American Cancer Society in Sun City, Ariz., retiring at age 85. Jeannette learned the value of education and business from her mother and grandfather, Clarence Eugene Terrill. Throughout her lifetime, Jeannette was an avid reader, giving her a great command of the English language. Her spelling abilities were legendary. She kept up with daily national news and politics and worked the New York Times crossword puzzle (in ink) until macular degeneration robbed her of the ability to see the printed word. She believed the key to life was a positive outlook even through adversity and always tried to find humor to lighten each day. She is survived by three daughters: Nina J. Joyce of North Highlands, Laurel G. Stults of Phoenix and Deborah D. Ferguson of Vancouver, Wash.; a son, Richard T. Armstrong of Charlotte, N.C.; six grandchildren: Sharon Wicks, Terri Lewis, Darren and Ryan Ferguson, Natalie Gress and Ashley Stults; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her second husband, George David Chumbler, whom she married in 1964 in Lordsburg, N. M., and who died in 1976; and an infant daughter, Kathleen Armstrong. Her ashes will be scattered Nov. 7 in San Francisco Bay.

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/SRB.2ACE/12056.1.1.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Thanks H, If you can think of the John Stafford prison reference, please let me know. I have been trying to trace the descendants of three families in western NY and since vital records on many of them is wanting, it has been a challenge. I am using a process-of-elimination to try and find the names that fit. I am most interested in the descendants of Rowland Stafford (1765-1844), of Samuel Hilliker (c1765-aft1840), and of William Harrington (1745-1820). All of them had children that lived in Erie Co, NY and some in Chautauqua Co, NY in later years. Your listing of both the Stafford and Harrington names piqued my interest. Regarding Abel Stafford, I am still a little confused regarding his forbears. Do you believe that he is a son of John Stafford as Mike has him or could he be from another line? Are you aware of the will that exists for the Ellington John Stafford at the Erie County Courthouse in PA? As for the Harrington family, do you have an idea of Viola Harrington's ancestry? William Harrington had ten children according to his Rev. War pension application. I believe I know the names of five of them and I am trying to get the rest. There are a number of Harrington's in western NY in the early years. Some might belong to this William or may be from allied lines. Rob
