She was born Aug. 11, 1925, in Bemus Point, the daughter of Robert and Alice Lindsley Gundlach. A Westfield resident most all her life, she was a member of the First Prebyterian Church and Society of Westfield, and very active in church affairs having served on the Board of Deaconesses for many years. In earlier years, she had been employed in the offices of the Westfield Memorial Hospital, and later, as a proof reader by the Westfield Republican, and most recently as a merchandiser by the American Greetings Company. She had been a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader. She enjoyed collecting all types of dolls and post cards. She was an avid reader who also enjoyed cross word puzzles. She enjoyed her flower gardens, her cats and animals of all kinds. However, her main pride and joy came from her grandchildren. She is survived by two daughters: Joyce Wilkens of Westfield and Kathleen Taylor of North East; a son, Stephen H. Whitney of Gassaway, W. Va.; 16 grandchildren; a brother, Robert Gundlach of Westfield; and a sister, Roberta Breads of Westfield. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard J. Whitney, who died April 5, 1986; a son, Ronald Whitney; and a sister, Vivian Larson. Interment will be in Westfield Cemetery, Westfield.

She was a member of the Lakewood Baptist Church, the Jamestown Moose Lodge, the Lakewood Memorial Post 1286, American Legion Auxiliary, and the Lakewood Rod and Gun Club Auxiliary. She is survived by her husband, Richard L. Wakefield, whom she married Aug. 27, 1937, in Sinclairville; two sons: Richard G. Wakefield of Lawrencebury, Ky., and Harry Wayne Wakefield of Ashville; a daughter, Norma Jean Norris of Cassadaga; eight grandchildren: Todd Norris of Ashville, Tim Norris of Sinclairville, Terry Norris of Bemus Point, Amy Norris-Dexter of Randolph, Debbie and Diana Drury, both of Lawrenceburg, Stacy Ivarie of Denver, Colo., and Steven Wakefield of Holland, Mich.; 15 great-grandchilcren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by three brothers: Edward, Harry and Leland Foulk; and a sister, Muriel Cessna. Inurnment will be in the Kennedy-Riverside Cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, Steve Wellman, whom she married Jan. 28, 1994, in Florida; a daughter, Dawn Marie Townsend; a son, Robert Haight of Florida and Vermont; a granddaughter, Daneielle of Pennsylvania; two great-grandsons; and a sister, Kathleen Himes of Jamestown. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Bruce Huling, who died June 1995.

Williams, 81, formerly of 218 Clyde Ave., died at 7 a.m. Thursday (Jan. 22, 2004) in the Lutheran Retirement Home. A lifelong area resident, he was born April 28, 1922, in Jamestown, the son of Marshall L. and Florence Hedlund Williams Sr. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy, and belonged to the Ira Lou Spring Post 149 American Legion and the Moose Lodge. A member of the teamsters, and had been employed as a truck driver by the former Boss Linco Lines Inc. He always enjoyed time with his friends, especially his close friend, Lee Abbey, and his many friends at the Lutheran Retirement Home. He will be sadly missed by his 12 nieces and nephews, particularly his niece, Gail Nolan of Jamestown, and nephew, Brian Fellows of New York City. He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis L. Craft Williams, whom he married Aug. 2, 1952, and who died Dec. 21, 1988; a sister, Helen G. Fellows; and four brothers: Ronald, Stanley, Marshall Jr. and Richard Williams. Burial will be in Fluvanna Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the Lind Funeral Home.

He was born in Buffalo and was a 1955 graduate of St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute and a 1960 graduate of Canisius College. He was a veteran of the Army National Guard. A retired accountant, he began his career with Texaco Oil in Puerto Rico, Lagos, Nigeria, and New York City. He had been employed as comptroller by Lockport Felt Division of Carborundum and Carborundum Ceramic Museum. In later years, he served as treasurer of D'Youville College, and as an accountant for the CFO of Cannon Design Architects and Cellular Products. He was an avid fisherman on Chautauqua Lake and also enjoyed boating, jet skiing and snowmobiling. He was a volunteer usher at Shea's Buffalo, Studio Arena, Kevenoky Theater, University of Buffalo Center for the Performing Arts and Art Park. He was also a tour guide for Be Ho tours. He is survived by his wife, the former Sally Hibbard; five children: Carin Mulvey of Clarence, Donald Jr. and William Weber, both of Wheatfield, Susan Chadwick of Bloomington, Ill., and Linda Monaghan of Parker, Colo; 11 grandchildren; and a sister, Carol Conklin of Eden. Burial will be in Nativity Cemetery, Orchard Park.

Wayne, IN has these starting from 1835 if memory serve me right. I was surprised the amount of info contained within. It is usually closer and least expensive to plan a trip to than Salt Lake, UT. Call ahead to make sure the MIcrofilm Printers is working. They seem to be reluctant to invest in New repairs until they move into their NEW Facility in Fall/Winter 2006. where ALL NEW Equipment will be procured. Surviving are a daughter, Barbara Harrison of Jamestown; 10 grandchildren: Jackie Harrison, Robert, Michael, Connie, and John Daniels, Travis Stowe, Jimmy Stover and Jay’nea, Matt and Michelle Harrison; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Messenger of Jamestown. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Robert A. Daniels and George J. Daniels II; a grandson, Patrick Harrison; three sisters, Sophie Narducci, Anna Geharline, and Helen Yaeger; and a brother, John Skowenski. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
