He shows up in the Princeton Vital Statistics. It took some doing, but he later appears on the National Archives records for the Rev. War. Should anybody care to follow up, the card nos. are 37386060,161634, and 39158036 He is shown as a Private, 12th Regiment, Mass. Militia under Co. Samuel Brewer. He was discharged and paid a sum of 14 dol. 12 nine (whatever that is) Heber enlisted in P. Chadwick's Co. under Col Brewer 2 Mar 1778, served for 9 mo. According to other sources he also served in the Continental Line, but I do not have any proof of this. Census records show Heber (Haber) in Albany, NY in the 1790 Census. Since we're trying to tie Heber with his children, Loammi was b. in Rome, NY 1791 (I think - don't have the records here in front of me) . Does anybody know where Heber Jr was born? (1795) Has anybody tried to work this from the Jackson, MI end? I keep thinking that, since so many family members wound up there, we may be overlooking some records. Loammi Cowden m. Lydia Packer, and their daughter Mary Ann m. Timothy Clark, my great-great grandfather, their son Emory m. Anna E. Bloomfield, dau. of Hiram Bloomfield and Charity Hoag, and Anna and Emory Clark's dau. Lillian m. my grandfather Frank S. Coe of Poland, NY. Questions, questions! Oh and PS - I'm finding cousins I never knew existed! Marti Friddle Graham, NC

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/SRB.2ACE/12151.4 Message Board Post: John (Jan) and Clara/Clarissa (Klaaske) Zwart Borgerding came to the U.S. in 1873 from Usquert, Groningen province, the Netherlands. I have not been able to find a marriage record for them in the Netherlands, but they may have married just before they emigrated. Both were passengers on the ship Idaho, which left port at Liverpool, England, and arrived at New York City on 19 May 1873. Jan was born 23 January 1851 and Klaaske was born 5 May 1851, both probably born in Usquert or Sedum, Groningen. Their oldest child, Alta/Allie J., was born 18 April 1874 in New York State. She married 10 March 1892 in Chautauqua County, NY, with Henry Grades Kolstee. They were the parents of Claudia who married Carl Crosby, Florence who died as a child, and Clarence who married Mildred Osbourne. Allie and Henry are buried in Holland Cemetery in Clymer, NY.

The Sons of Confederate Veterans represent American military veterans but focus on The Confederate States of America. The preservation of liberty and freedom was the motivating factor in the South's decision to fight the Second American Revolution. The tenacity with which Confederate soldiers fought underscored their belief in the rights guaranteed by the Constitution. The Sons of Confederate Veterans are preserving the history and legacy of these heroes, so future generations can understand the motives that animated the Southern Cause. The SCV is the direct heir of the United Confederate Veterans, and the oldest hereditary organization for male descendants of Confederate soldiers. Organized at Richmond, Virginia in 1896, the SCV continues to serve as a historical, patriotic, and non-political organization dedicated to insuring that a true history of the 1861-1865 period is preserved. The SCV works in conjunction with other historical groups to preserve Confederate history. However, it is not affiliated with any other group other than the Military Order of the Stars and Bars, composed of male descendants of the Southern Officers Corps. The SCV rejects any group whose actions tarnish or distort the image of the Confederate soldier or his reasons for fighting. We are Americans and are appalled by those who use our sacred American symbols and flags to foster hate and bigotries. Contact us if you would like more information about the Sons of Confederate Veterans. Again, please contact us. Thanks, John Tucker

Mrs CIESIELSKI went to the barnyard to milk some cows about six o'clock. She milked one cow and while taking the milk to the house a bull broke through the fence and came into the lot where the cows were kept. When Mrs CIESIELSKI returned to milk another cow, the bull attacked her and knocked her down. Her head struck the corner of the barn and a gash several inches long was cut. Boy Drives Off Bull A boy about 14 years old, who is employed on the farm, witnessed the attack and drove the bull away with a pitch fork. With the assistance of the boy, Mrs CIESIELSKI was able to walk into the house. A physician was immediately called, but before he arrived Mrs CIESIELSKI had died. It is thought that death was the result of an injury to the brain, as the gash was niether deep enough nor the loss of blood great enough to cause death under ordinary circumstances. Mrs CIESIELSKI was born in German Poland. She came to this country with her husband *4 years ago and for 19 years had lived in Dunkirk,(CHAUTAUQUA CO) NY, after which they moved to the farm in Buena Vista, where they have resided for 26 years. Leaves A Family The deceased is survived by her husband, *John CIESELSKI, and four children, Mrs Felix TETZLOFF of the Town of Hull, Mrs. Alex SHULFER of the Town of Grant and Edward and Lawrence CIESIELSKI, both of Buena Vista. Contributors Notes: *4 years should be 24 years. *John should be listed as Jakob/Jacob CIESIELSKI. Mary (nee GRACZYKOWSKI) CIESIELSKI was an aunt of my G-grandfather, Joseph L. Graczykowski. The CIESIELSKI farm was the first place Joseph L called home in WI. He lived with his aunt & uncle for a few years upon arriving (from Dunkirk, NY), in 1896+/-. The CIESIELSKI's/GRACZYKOWSKI's came from Wegrowiec, Poznan, Prussia, in 1876. The CIESIELSKI family still retains the farmstead in Buena Vista.
