Had a lovely conversation with his wife. I told her that I would send Jack a letter (9-26-05) explaining what information I was hoping to find on David S. Wright and then follow with a phone call. To my dismay....The little store where I worked closed its doors on Oct. 31st. Consequently, that month just got away from me. On Nov. 1st, I ran into a health snag which is still not resolved. I'm ashamed so much time has lapsed since I first sent my letter. If you should talk to Jack, please let him know that when I am better, I will be giving him a call. All the best to you and yours in the New Year! Sherry

In the Genealogy Gems: News from the Fort Wayne Library No. 22, December 31, 2005: A New Database We are pleased to announce an exciting new database on the FriendsOfAllenCounty website called "American Ancestors of Michigan Governors" http://www.friendsofallencounty.org/20050034/searchform.php. Dr. Joseph Druse, the first state of Michigan genealogist, had collected lineage information on the Michigan governors and their spouses for more than fifteen years. A colleague, Judy Pfaff, assisted Dr. Druse in keying this data into a FamilyTreeMaker program and took over the project completely when Dr. Druse died in the fall of 2004. There are nearly ten thousand persons and over four thousand marriages listed in the file. As was reported in the 16 June 2003 edition of "Eastman's Online Genealogy Newsletter," many of the families of Michigan governors were of New England ancestry who later moved to New York, Ohio, and then Michigan.
