    1. John Wesley DAWSON/Emeline ROSS
    2. Michele Hassell
    3. Hello, I am looking for information regarding members of the DAWSON family who lived in Ripley from approximately 1850-1900. John Wesley DAWSON died there 8 August 1890 and his wife, Emeline (nee ROSS) DAWSON lived there until her death on 29 October 1902. John and Emeline also had siblings who married each other and lived in Ripley during that period, according to census records: Ann Irene ROSS married Isaac DAWSON. Emeline's brother Perrin D. ROSS and his wife Jane (nee BEATTY) also lived in Ripley. If anyone has infornmation on any of these people, I would be happy to make connection and exchange/compare information. If not, I am wondering how far back records for Ripley go and where they might be located. Thank you very much for any assistance. Michele Ashland OR hassell@mind.net

    3. Mary Jane, I live in North Carolina. I cannot get to these cemeteries. We generally do not read cemeteries. We take pictures of the stones & post them. If you are looking for an online cemetery list please visit Chautauqua County GenWeb (http://www.rootsweb.com/~nychauta/). If you are looking for cemetery images- just keep checking our web site. As cemetery images come available to us we will post them for everyone to see! Thank you for your reply. My ggrandfather Lewis Monroe STARR was born there and was in the Civil War in the Navy on the steamer R.R.Cuyler. I can't seem to find any trace of him until 1880 in Iowa? I don't often post site updates to the list. I hate when people use the list for their own purposes. Most are pay sites. I figure the lookups I do post my name & site address.
