    2. Kelly (KRGS)
    3. I might as join the band wagon... My name is Kelly Miller. I am originally from Buffalo, NY & now reside in North Carolina (NASCAR country). I too perform lookups for individuals who post their queries to the list &/or the message board (for those who don't know that is located at http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec?htx=board&r=rw&p=localities.northam.usa.st ates.newyork.counties.chautauqua). I'm not exactly sure how long I have been a subscriber to this but I'm sure it's over 3 years now. I have often been a part of other genealogy lists too. I have never seen such dedicated volunteers. The hard work that Dee, Jay, Loraine, Kathy, & Bob do is not totally appreciated. Not only are they helpful- they're nice people too!!! I wish other lists were half as terrific. The following surname are the main lines I am researching from all over Chautauqua Co, mainly in Ripley: Bronson / Brownson, Culver, Hamm, Parker, Thorp, & Waite. Dee, I am Chris Lewis from Ohio. Looking for my husband's maternal Great Grandfather, Franklin or Frank McIntosh. He was born abt 1845, but not positive what state. On 1900 Berrien Co, MI census he said he was born in Michigan. On 1880 Clinton Co, IND census he said born in Indiana, on 1870 Wayne Co IND census he says born in Ohio.....so I don't know where the rascal was really born. In 1900 he said his parents were both born in Scotland but I've yet to determine who they were, haven't found their names yet. Also I haven't been able to find our Frank on any other census records except in Chautauqua Co 1860, found a Frank McIntosh who is right age to be our Frank, living with parents James and Susan McIntosh but it says they were born in NY. So can't be sure if this is our Frank....there is also listed a brother to this particular Frank, named Fayette and one named Marenus. At this point I am so stumped, I quit working on the line for awhile, am dealing with diabetes right now and just really frustrated with it all. Our Frank supposedly was in the Civil War, don't know which side, found him on an 1894 Veterans List of CW Vets living in Michigan at that time. We know our Frank was there in 1894 as they had a child born in Michigan in 1892, so pretty sure this is our Frank as it lists his township (Lincoln) in Berrien Co, but I' haven't been able to get his CW records yet. I don't know if I can request them with just his name and date of birth, not knowing what state he served or what side. We do know he married his wife, Lucy Collins in Macon Co, Missouri about 1868. So this guy could have been from Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, even Illinois (in-laws lived there) or Missouri....I've asked a couple people to help me look for his CW records but no one has been able to help much......anyways that's who I am and that' who I'm looking for.....I know he died between 1900 and 1907, in Berrien Co, Michigan. However, haven't been able to get a death record for him, as none kept that early and yet to find where he was buried in Berrien Co. I've found his wife and most of his children and their children but no Frank. He also worked for the Railroad, but don't know which one. He was an engineer and went blind in his later years per family stories, haven't been able to find out if he got a pension either.....one family member said he was told he owned 3 farms in Michigan but not sure where. I really need help from someone who knows where to look. A lot of people have tried to help me but no luck on finding his death record, burial place or names of his parents. Geez! Thanks for writing. This reply was probably more than you expected. Sorry, I just get really frustrated. I know somewhere out there is a tiny bit of info that this whole mystery hinges on. It's just finding it and then all the puzzle pieces will fall into place. Blessings, Chris in Ohio (Nighthawk)

    1. Introduction
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Olmstead, Kinne Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/SRB.2ACE/12240 Message Board Post: This is in response to welcoming notes from Jay Priest and Dee Davidson. I was born in Jamestown in 1925 and now live near Chicago. I'm interested in my grandpa's family. He was William Sheldon Olmstead. My grandma was Alice Della Kinne (Kinney), born in LeRoy, NY. Both are buried in Gerry Cemetery, where I'll join them someday. My name on my birth certificate is Arthur Wall, but I am known as Ed, and during my newspaper days in Hawaii and elsewhere I often used A. E. P. Wall as a byline. This is a terrific site. My thanks to everybody who makes it terrific. I hope I'm doing this correctly!
