I found a Hannah Hilton Starr who was living in Bertrand, Berrier County, Michigan. I believe the transcriber of the original 1858 letter assumed Bertrand was in England, as that is where the Hilton family I'm researching originated. This may solve it. I do not think she would of known them. They came from Buffalo NY in 1938 and supposedly got married in Ripley on 01 Jul 1938. There names are Jesse Michael Brennan and Pernelli Imogene Tallman but she always went by Pearl. There is a story behind why they got married in Ripley. I guess the story through the grapevine is that my grandmother's brother-in-law was somehow related to my grandfather. I don't know how true this is being that the brother-in-law's last name is Brunner. My grandmother is long since passed on and my Great Aunt is still alive but does not know anything about the relation between her husband and my grandfather because it was something my grandmother found out. This may be why I am hitting brick walls in my research. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
