He had placed it in position, and after applying a light, waited what he thought was a reasonable time, then went to examine the cartridge which then exploded. It blew him 75 ft into the air. Taggart was 24 yrs old and unmarried. Warren CO PA, He was a soldier of the late war, and was 41 years of age. His death was caused by chloroform, administered by his physician in order to operate on his diseased leg, the operation being very painful. He had been kindly cared for by Mr PATCHEN'S family for some time, and was buried at Spring Creek. He was of jovial disposition and left many friends and relatives at this place.
