Yes, I have seen these directories, but they are too late. Fidelia Wethey died in about 1833 and Nelson Buck left Mentz for Illinois after her death. Those directories do have their son Oliver P. (Buck) Wethey though. > > There are some later directories up at the NY USgenwebs > _http://www.rootsweb.com/~nycayuga/directry/index.htm_ > (http://www.rootsweb.com/~nycayuga/directry/index.htm) > > Eliz > > > * 1857 Auburn, NY City Directory > * 1859-60 Boyd's Directory Of Auburn NY Containing The Names Of The > Citizens > And A Business Dircetory Of Cayuga County (NY) > * 1863-64 Brigham's General Directory Of Auburn > Weedsport, Port Byron, Union Springs, Aurora, Moravia And Cayuga And > Business Directory Of Auburn (NY) > * 1867-68 Cayuga County NY Directory > * The Auburn (NY) 1878 - 1879 City Directory - 1878 - 1879 Farmers > Register > Of Cayuga County > * 1887 Union Springs NY Directory Cover, Page 1&2, Page 3&4, Page 5&6 > (Courtesy of Bill Hecht) > > > > **************Biggest Grammy Award surprises of all time on AOL Music. > ( > http://music.aol.com/grammys/pictures/never-won-a-grammy?NCID=aolcmp003000000025 > 48) > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to > NYCAYUGA-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the > quotes in the subject and the body of the message >
Eliz, Didn't you say she passed away about 1833? What happened to Nelson then? Did they both pass and he went with mom's parents (his grandparents)? Obviously he took his mothers last name thus eliminating his fraternal last name. I know how confusing it can be. I can't find my father and his brothers together in Cayuga Co. Yet all of them were supposedly born there. So, we keep looking for the McLaughlin Boys .... the only thing any of us knew ( sons and daughters) is that they were in an orphans home at some point. I for one think Grandma was married more than 2 times. I myself can find another in Los Angeles. So it seems that they frequently followed the crops in our case. Irish. Sorry I did not seem to find what you were looking for.
