Hello, I was wondering if anyone on the list has access to any directories or other sources that might help determine if Nelson Buck and Fidelia Wethey were married at any point between 1830 and 1833. I believe that they would have been living in either Port Byron or possibly Mentz. They had a son named Oliver P. Buck, who later changed his name to Oliver P. Wethey. I believe that Fidelia died either during child birth or shortly after. Nelson Buck and his family then moved to Illinois and Oliver grew up with his grandfather Abel Wethey and Uncle Porter Wethey. Here are the two sources that I have at this time that lead me to believe that Fidelia and Nelson were indead married: ______________________________________________ >From Betty Wethey's Will (Fidelia's Mother): "Oliver P. Wethey of Mentz, Cayuga County descendant of Adelia (Fidelia) Buck a die daughter of the testator." ______________________________________________ >From the "The Biographical Record Of Livingston And Woodford Counties Illinois" page 204: "He (Nelson Buck) first married Miss Fidelia Withey, of Port Byron, New York, and they made their home in that place until her death." ______________________________________________ Any assistance in this search would be much appreciated. Thanks, Erik Quist
