I am looking for ancestors/relatives by the above names who lived in Cayuga & Ontario Co in the early 1800s - BARNEY BOUCK b. abt 1800 m. CLARANA/CLARISSA b. abt 1806 before 1823 in NY - Clarana's last name was given as SPARLING on a son's death record and COGSWELL, dau of GEORGE & CLARANIA (CUMMINGS) COGSWELL on a cemetery record. A W. HENRY SPARLING b. 1807 Albany Co.l ived next to Barney & Clarana after they moved to OH, then IA and I was going on the assumption that they (W. Henry & Clarana) were sibs until I came across the reference to George Cogswell as Clarana' father. W. HENRY was married to LOVINA LUCKEY b. 1810 NY and they had a child James b. 1831 in Cayuga Co, NY. BARNEY & CLARANA/CLARISSA (COGSWELL or SPARLING) had a son, JOHN STACY BOUCK, b 1823 in Victor, Ontario Co, NY All of the above people moved from NY to OH, then IA in the early 1800's. And all of the above surnames (including STACY which might have some connection because of John Stacy Bouck's name) appeared in Cayuga, Ontario & Albany counties during the early 1800s but I haven't been able to make the connections. Some also appeared in Schoharie county, where many Boucks resided. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who might have information about these people. Also, all of these ancestors were very active in the Methodist Episcopal churches in OH and IA - were there any ME churches in Cayuga or Ontario counties in the early 1800's? I plan to go to my local Family History Center this week to see what microfilmed records might be available to order. Any suggestions on the best ones to order for vital records?
