    3. I found a note in my Ball family file that Hedden Ball married Hannah Raner on November 2, 1852 in Owasco, NY. Owasco is a town in Cayuga County directly North of Niles. Hedden Ball's first wife, Sarah Kemp died on May 4, 1852. She may have died in childbirth with her son Samual who lists his year of birth as 1852 in census records. Sarah Kemp Ball is buried in the Fosterville Cemetery in the town of Aurelius in Cayuga County, NY. If Hedden was left with a newborn son, this could explain only six months between Heeden's first wife's death and his marriage to Hannah Raner. I also found a death record for Hedden Ball's daughter, Louise. She died in Montezuma, NY on July 28, 1916. Her birth date is listed as December 14, 1842. There might be an obituary listing her siblings surviving her in the Auburn or Port Byron newspaper or a record in the Cayuga County Surrogate's office for a Probate or Letters of Administration if she had any estate to settle. These sometimes list the currrent address of surviving relatives. ----- Original Message ----- From: <BITTBD@aol.com> To: <NYCAYUGA-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, September 11, 1999 1:01 AM Subject: Re:Raner/Reed in Cayuga County > Need help finding information on the families of Jeremiah Raner who was born > at Niles, New York.
