Jeremiah V. Raner born 17 Dec 1835 Niles, Cayuga County, New York married 31 December 1865 Jasper, Steuben County, New York Elmira Banks born 27 Jan 1848 Canisteo, Steuben County, New York. Both buried Woodlawn Cemetery in Steuben County, NY He died 9 Feb 1909 and she died 12 Jan 1929 (have her obituary) They had 9 childern---Eri G m Millie Banks, Arthur, Millie (Ibelieve is a male), Hatti m Williss Eugene VanSkiver, Edward m1 Dora Eliza Bailey m2 Leona Maude Tuller m3 ???? and m4 Nellie ?????, Nellie m William Kellegg, Francis Marion, Ulylsesses Grant m Etta Mae Reed born 1879. Grant Raner as he was called died in an auto accident near Howard, NY in early 1940's. Hannah--------------Raner Ball was born ca 1801 according to 1860 census which lists her age as 59, also listed this census was Jeremiah 24, son and Lurinda 15. Gary sent me the information from his files that Hannah Raner m 2 Nov 1852 in Owasco,NY a town directly north of Niles to Hedden Ball who had been m1 to Sarah Kemp who died 4 May 1852 and is buried Fosterville Cemetery in Aurelius, Cayuda County, NY. That they had a son Samuel born 1852 according to the census and this may be why he remarried in only six months to Hannah Raner. (Who was Hannahs first husband and did he die also?) When and where? The 1865 Census lists Hannah Hannah Ball age 64 , B Cayuga County, 11 childern, married twice, now married, no husband---Jeremiah Raner 29, B Cayuga County, single, farming, served 86th NY Inf, Co B Sept 9, 1861, 36 months, i year in Michigan , Sept 1863.-----Amos W. Dennis age 15 B Stuben County, protege, farming. (was this a grandson of Hannah?) I have ordered Jeremiah Raners Veteran Records and hoping to find his father and mothers names.
