My aunt Ruth Hewes Spicer was from King Ferry and her grandparents were the Ward Family from King Ferry, NY. She lives in Freeville, NY not far from Groton/Cortland. My uncles name is Benjamin James Spicer. He goes by the name B. James Spicer in the phone directory and used to live in Trumansburg, NY until just a few years ago. For many years my Aunt and her brother owned her grandparents old farm in King Ferry. She may be able to fill in some gaps on the King Ferry Ward family line and whether or not they are connected to the families that have been posted over the last several days. She also had a brother David Hewes who I think lives in Ithaca. The Hewes all went to Sherwood Central School with my mother and father. The school district now is called Southern Cayuga Central Schools. My aunt also had two cousins, Phyllis Ward and Bea Ward that lived on Rt 34B near Popular Ridge. Don't know how they were connected but they were from the same King Ferry Ward family. An uncle of hers (also A Ward) lived on Rt 90 near King Ferry. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ron Myers" <myers@rohan.sdsu.edu> To: <NYCAYUGA-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, April 07, 2000 11:37 AM Subject: Re: [NYCAYUGA] Roll Call: Ward ... > Hi Nancy, > > Speaking of Wards in So.
