Does anyone have a suggestion on how I might find out if/when a William Gowers was released from the prison. From the Cayuga County surrogate records, I found that William was taken from his home in Berlin and sent to the Cayuga county jail in Nov of 1882 (age 62). He remained there until at least May of 1883 when a petition was submitted requesting his release. I can find nothing stating if he actually was released or anything about him after this date. I have already checked with the Records Retention dept and the Cayuga Co Sherriff's Dept. Thank you Donna
