    2. REGARDING - DATED 03/06/2005 "Jan, I read your email and took notice of the Cemetery records for Soule Cemetery being in the Town Garage in a pile, on the floor! This peeked my interest as my g.grandmother's death certificate states that she is buried there, Hazel Whitfield Farmer, died Jan. 13, 1926, burial date Jan. 16, 1926. But when I contacted the cemetery, they claimed they have no record of her being buried there. This has been extremely frustrating to me. Perhaps her burial record is lying in the pile on the floor?" ANSWER: Wendy, I know the frustration you are going through. I went through it a number of times regarding Auburn, NY + genealogy. I cannot remember who wrote me about the records for the Soule Cemetery being in a pile in the Town Garage, but it was someone from Auburn & I took them at their word. You are very lucky to have spoken with someone from the Soule Cemetery. I contacted the Town Supervisor a number of times and received NO REPLY, and it is my understanding that the Town Supervisor + company take care of all whatever at Soule Cemetery. My only suggestion would be to contact Bernie Corcoran, Cayuga County Coordinator for NYGenWeb Project in Auburn ([email protected]) - I am sure he cannot do lookups for you, but can give you guidance as to what to do. When you contact him be sure to provide ALL information regarding your search & the problems you ran into. You may also want to do more research regarding your G Grandmother & where she did die. Good luck with your endeavors & if I can be of any further help, please contact me & will see what I can do.
