Hello: My gg grandfather was born in 1826. All of the records I have collected re: birthplace are divided between NY and Canada. Parents are also unknown. I am assuming he might have been named after his father. I did locate a Moses Bennet on the 1820 Census. I am not sure he is related but I am now exploring counties with Bennet's bordering Canada. I did find, who I believe to be, my gg grandfather in Freehold, Warren Co. PA on the 1850 Census. In 1854, he married my gg grandmother in Glade Twp., Warren Co. PA. This is the earliest record I have so far. I would appreciate any information or direction one may have to offer. As you can see I am grasping at straws.
