It made me wonder whether there are city directories for Onondaga Co., NY, for 1800 to 1850. I went to the citydirectories site, but see it is a pay site, and I cannot afford pay sites.. Would you please look up Onondaga Co. for the time period I have mentioned? I have been looking for my ggg grandfather, John PECK, for a long time. Maybe this would help me separate out the three John PECKs who lived in the Manlius area at the same time, the first part of the 19th century Thanks a lot! Jayne [email protected]

    3. Jayne- Onondaga County Public Library has city directories going back into the 1800's. I'm not sure the exact year off the top of my head and can't get through to ask this evening. However, there is both phone and email contacts on their website which can get you through to a librarian in local history that can help you. Look under "Ask a Librarian". They'll also do a quick look-up for you or provide a list of researchers for hire for more intensive searching if you need that. (Not sure from your email whether you're from the area or not). I'd look for you, but am super busy right now as I'm a graduate student as well as working full-time. Hope this helps! Oh yes, their site: http://www.ocpl.lib.ny.us/ Nancy Ward [email protected] On Sep 7, 2005, at 1:12 PM, [email protected] wrote: > In a message dated 9/7/2005 12:45:51 PM Eastern Daylight Time, > [email protected] writes: > >> In a message dated 9/4/2005 3:50:42 PM Eastern Standard Time, >> [email protected] writes: >> Does anyone know if there are city directories for Auburn prior to >> 1857? >> I didn't see a reply so here with is what UScitydirectories has to >> say; >> Eliz >> 1842-1860Boston Public Library >> 1857Brigham Young UniversityFiche E 154.5 .C57x >> Cayuga County NYGenWebOnline! >> Duke University: Perkins LibraryFiche N4133 >> Family History Library >> 1859/60Brigham Young University >> > > Dear Elizabeth: > > I just saw your reply to someone about city directories for Auburn, > Cayuga > Co., NY.
