Thanks for the image which is not Civil War. He is a corporal, in the full dress uniform, of the NY National Guard, ca. 1899-1902 based upon his single breasted tunic, NY staff pattern buttons, white facings, and blue-cut #2 on the collar. For reference on this see: a. Cayugans in the Field, 1792-2003 by Roger Sturcke and Anthony Gero (Jacob Press) and b. New York State National Guard by Roger Sturcke and Anthony Gero (Arcadia Press) both of which can be purchased at the Cayuga Museum, the Seward House or Creekside Books for a few sites. (Also believe Cayuga Co. Historians Office has several copies left). It a great cabinet photo by a local Auburn photographer too. Is it associated with the Carr family???
