Hi to the List: Does anyone on the list live in Auburn NY? I am looking for some kind soul to do a lookup in the Cayuga County Historians office for a birth that took place in l829. I do not know what church the couple belonged to. The surname of the father is LEWIS, Mathias/Matheus and the mother's surname is VAN GORDER. I wish I could find out her given name. The child was John L. LEWIS born 4 Mar l829, born in Auburn. I don't know if there might be a city directory for the area at that time which might also list the couple.
