While going through old land records for Cayuga Co. (Book of Deeds), I found the following tidbit that might be of interest to someone. My husband is distantly related to Cyrenus Wheeler of Scipio, which is what caught my eye. Not sure if this is even the same Cyrenus Wheeler and I have no known link to the Austins. On 27 Dec 1806, Cyrenus M. Wheeler purchased two pieces of property in Milton, County of Cayuga. They were purchased from Mary Jenkins of Town of Mumford? in the State of Connecticut and from her brother Charles Austin of Poplar Ridge. They came of the property through their father David, the brother of Jeremiah Austin, deceased Revolutionary veteran (died 1777?). He was granted Lot #22 in the Military Track. The document was also signed by Edward Austin and Wm. Wheeler (relationships unknown). Teresa
