CALL. Silas in his Civil War affidavit recalls that after his mother (a widow) married John A. THOMPSON they traveled to different locations. We believe that John A. THOMPSON died in Steuben County, NY. 1800 census shows a John THOMPSON living in Ovid, Cayuga County, NY 1810 John THOMPSON - census shows 2 John THOMPSONs living in Mentz. John THOMPSON - census shows living in Aurelius. 1820 John THOMPSON - census living in Mentz. 1830 John THOMPSON - census living in Mentz Does anyone have any information on these John Thompsons...are any related to each other; are they all different for each year???
