Tom Eldred, former Cayuga County historian, will speak on connecting the facts collected by historians and genealogists to the everyday lives of our ancestors. Free and open to all. Sat. Nov. 10 GENEALOGY AND HISTORY RESEARCH DAY. 10 am - 2 pm at the History House in Moravia. Opening of an exhibit titled "Why Archives Matter", hosted by the Powers Library Association and the Upstate History Alliance with COLHS artifacts on display. Short business meeting followed by Pat Kimber speaking on Historical Decorative Arts. Free and open to all.     3. I have received some information from Mr. Reynolds regarding Mary's daughter Mary Jane who was married to a Powers. I am also a descendent of Mary Roderick via her daughter Kate. 1. Kate Roderick b. 1850 d. 1933 Married to William Young--- lived in Iowa. Died in Iowa- year unknown 2. Jeannie Young b. 1868 Joseph Young b. 1870 Married Daniel Shaw. In Auburn I have sent for Kate's death certificate. I do not know her father's first name; don't know if Kate and Mary Jane had any other siblings.. Kate was born in Canada but I do not know where. I would love to know of some news clippings and would appreciate knowing how to contact Sharon Garrett. Thank you so much! Lorrie Wasielewski

    3. Rick: Information on the church is on file at the Frontenac Historical Society in Union Springs. I would be glad to pull together what we have for you. The church still exists today, however, in the edifice of what used to be the Episcopalian Church, located on Route 90 in Union Springs. If you are the area, perhaps we could set up a time at the museum. If not, please let me know how I could forward this information to you. FYI: The museum recently received a donation of the oil lamps which were used to illuminate the church.     3. Rick, The Rochester Diocese was more than likely the repository for the records of St. Michael's Roman Catholic church in Union Springs. Genealogy and History Research Days are held on the 2nd Saturday of each month: Sept. 8, Oct. 13 and Nov. 10 at the History House in Moravia from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
