    3. The Honor Society? picture was used in the 1965 Frontenac on the Honor Society page (page 113) with the heading New Members Tapped. Left to Right: Front-Mary Clark, Kathy Kapcha, Barbara Redfield, Elizabeth Avery Back-Linda Post, Sandra Clark, Linda Olson, Lowell Davis, Douglas Fox, Joseph Ptaszek, Steven Scofield, Linda Roudabush, Norma Carter I recognized some of these folks as they were fellow classmates Kindergarten to Grade 5-our family then moved to Camillus. I then actually found my copy of the Frontenac! Some of the people in that picture were Seniors in 1965 which would put their dob as 1947-in case that's useful to anyone. Here's some info from my mother about the USCS school board pictures Kathy Martin 21840-#1 picture - on the R end - I think is Henry Powers- but don't know why he would be in a Springport pic. - 21840-#2 pic - on the R end is Harold Pinckney. some of the others look familar in both pics but can't put names to them...

    1. [NYCAYUGA] Cayuga-Owasco Lakes Historical Society update

    3. As of 2008 we are implementing significant and hopefully positive changes to our Research Fees. Up until now we have charged a per-hour fee for all on-site research, members getting a 50 percent discount. Going forward, the per-hour fee continues for non-members, however members familiar with genealogy or history research may do self-directed research for free (you still have to pay for photocopies). The catch is that you need to be able to work independently without research assistance from our genealogy center staff. All work must be done in designated areas under the supervision of a trained volunteer who will retrieve requested items. Only one item (book, file, scrapbook or box of photos) may be viewed at a time. Members can still get assistance if needed at a 50 percent discount off the non-member fee. Please visit the History House or www.colhs.org for more information. Upcoming Events: Sun. Jan 6 ANNUAL MILLARD FILLMORE BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION. 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM at the History House in Moravia. Open house, refreshments, festivities. Free and open to all. Sat. Mar. 8 GENEALOGY AND HISTORY RESEARCH DAY. 10 am - 2 pm at the History House in Moravia. COLHS volunteers will help you find information about your ancestors in our files at the Luther Research Center and Archives. No charge for COLHS members who can work independently. The History House is staffed by volunteers and is open for visitors on Mondays from 9am to noon year round, except for holidays and during inclement weather, and on Saturdays from 10am to 2pm from June through August. The Cayuga-Owasco Lakes Historical Society, serving the southern townships in Cayuga County, is a qualified not for profit charitable organization chartered by the Regents of the State of New York.     3. I'm enjoying the USCS pictures-thanks Bill! I attended USCS Kindergarten to Grade 5. My grandfather George Marz (he lived in Oakwood) was a bus driver at USCS from the early 1950's (or maybe earlier) until probably 1960-he would have turned 65 in Feb 1960 so I'm assuming he would have retired then. He's not in these photos. I'm forwarding this and the maintenance crew pics to my mother to see if she can identify anyone. We moved from the area when I was 10 so I'm afraid that I can't identify any of these folks.     3. Bill, Once again you have made my day! What a delight to see my Great Uncle looking back at me from the USCS Maintenance Crew! #3 is my great Uncle, Lew Chapin. You may remember that awhile back I was looking for a USCS yearbook that was supposedly dedicated to him...it was (sort of) and I did find a picture from one...but this shot takes the cake!!
