    2. Hi Everyone, Just a friendly reminder to please not include the "Roll Call" heading in listings. I've watched the FL list owner being frustrated with all the postings listing "roll call" in the subject. Don't forget that all of the indexes are generated from subject lines also, and it will be really confusing if someone is searching for a name with Roll or Call in it. Thanks, Kathy Decker List administrator

    2. There was a Burgess clothing store in Cortland run by the Burgess family for decades until about the 70's. You might want to check Cortland Co. historical as they have a lot of info.

    3. Without knowing the other sons' names or the time frame you mention, I just don't know. The only identified [I hope] sons are Joel Willis Burgess and Jonathan Burgess who went to Lewis County, MO; the only identified daughter is Sally who married Elias Miller. Other "maybes" for sons include Russell and Charles BUT BUT BUT these are not vetted. 3. Am searching for information on the Burgess family who moved from Stillwater, Saratoga Co, to Sempronius in 1797. Seth Burgess and his wife Selinda Olive Cady are buried in Kellogsville Cemetery. However, we do not know anything about Selinda's family or whether they might be connected to Cady's in Cayuga County. Seth's second oldest son, Jonathan, married Mary Collins [probably in Stillwater] and almost nothing is known of Jonathan and Mary. Would like to know where they are buried -- Jonathan died c. 1847 in Sempronius; his wife died earlier. Would also like to know the family of Mary. Jonathan and Mary had as many as 10 children but I have the names of only three. The other thing of note is that the name Willis begins to appear in this family starting 1815. We believe it is connected to the Collins side. Cheryl

    1. [NYCAYUGA] Tuppers/Tupper's Corner
    2. Hello. I received the e-mail I have copied below. My ancestor Isaac Tupper was supposedly one of those 20-24 children born to Charles Tupper but we have found no documentation yet. My ancestor Isaac was supposed to have been to Charles Tupper's marriage to Hannah Jaqua. The e-mail below indicates a Cayuga County connection so I am hoping one of you might know something; that would be wonderful. Also, is there still a Tupper's Corner -- and perhaps even the sword? Thank you very much, Stephanie >>I have alot of information on the Jaquas and some on Charles Tupper. Hannah Jaqua was the daughter of Aaron Jaqua and Rebekah House. 1. [NYCAYUGA] Searching ealiest Cayuga County Deeds by Index.
    2. Robert S Swenson
    3. Dear Lister, A fellow lister, in response to my email of four days ago, asked how I had accessed the earliest, 1794 Deeds of Cayuga County. I looked up and then ordered two reels from LDS in SLC which were sent to our local Family History Center. LDS Film No. 850914 is filed alphabetically under the surname of the grantor: i.e. *Grantors Deed Index* beginning in 1793. It has the tremendous virtue of listing (in the index without having to look at the actual Deed Record) the Town and Lot number, and the Acreage involved, in addition to location of the Record (liber number and page number). The second LDS Film No. is 850924 and was identified as an *Index to Grantee Deeds* beginning in 1793. This, too, is microfilm ordered on temporary loan from SLC. The title is misleading in that BOTH Grantor and Grantee are indexed on this one microfilm. However this Index does not show Town, Lot and Acreage numbers. I do not know how far into the 1800s these indices go, but that you will read from the description given by LDS OnLine ar at your friendly local FHC! Sincerely, Bob Swenson

    3. Linda, thanks for your response re Parsells. I'm trying to find outthe parents of John Parsells MACE. Specifically, I am trying to confirm that Jacob MACE and Ellenor PARSAL, married 1763 in Orange County, NY are his parents or gr-parents. Thanks for your info. Linda -----Original Message----- From: Linda6032@aol.com [ mailto:Linda6032@aol.com <mailto:Linda6032@aol.com> ] Sent: Saturday, March 25, 2000 3:33 PM To: NYCAYUGA-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [NYCAYUGA] Parsells In reply to question from Linda Selub: I have Paez Parsells, born 1777, place unknown. Family records say his family originally settled in Rhode Island, but I have never been able to track them down in RI. I have found other Parsellses in DRC church records from Orange County, but not Paez. Paez is the father of John Parsells, born 1807, location unknown, who married and lived most of his life in Wurtsboro, which is in Sullivan County very near the Orange County border. The woman John married, Elizabeth Helm, was from an old Wurtsboro family, but that doesn't necessarily mean that John was from Wurtsboro originally. Wife of Paez was Isabella Young Parsells, born in France. I do not know if they had other children, nor do I know if Paez had brothers/sisters.
