    3. Actually, Alahambra should be Alhambra. It's not far from where I live. I've done three tours of jury duty in the Alhambra Superior Court. When I saw the William Taber was a engineer, I wondered if he worked for Lehigh Valley. It's likely that he knew my great-grandfather John P. Hart, who was also a engineer for LVRR. Unfortunately, my g-gf was killed in a train derailment at Throop's Crossing (Throop's Station) in April 1904. 3. I don't know if William R. TABER fits or not. He might. Gertrude CHAPPEL's husband was Howard K. TABER (1904-1986). His parents appear to be (from the 1910 Census in Cato, Cayuga, NY) John (age 35) and Lucy (age 28) TABER. They had one son Kenneth C. (1937-2003) The CA Death Records give William R. TABER's birth date as 13 February 1866 in New York State and his death date as 31 May 1946 in Los Angeles County, CA. His mother's maiden name was BEATTY. His SSN indicates he was living in California when he applied. The 1900 Census in Auburn lists a William TABER in Auburn ward 9 (ED 19, p3A) born Feb 1867, with wife Elizabeth, daughter Mattie, and sons Willie, Leslie, Benjamin, Loyd, and Ronald. He is listed as an engineer. Elizabeth, born in NY to parents born in England, is listed as having had 7 children, 6 of whom were living at the Census date. 3. Hello Bill. Thank you for your information - I am working on that at the moment. In my research I have come across a newspaper insertion regarding the death of William R. Taber in California in June 1946. You may already have this but if not I would be happy to send on to you - if it is your family connection. Regards. Maud Hamill. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bill Hart" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, June 06, 2005 5:17 PM Subject: Re: [NYCAYUGA] The Murdock/Mortons/Lester/Barrett/Switzer families. > Hi Maud, > > Mertice was born 3 June 1905 in Auburn.
