Surnames: REEDY LAHR CLANCY Classification: Obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/RRB.2ACE/5941 Message Board Post: Looking for any descendants or information on any of the Reedy or Lahr individuals mentioned in the following obituary: Published obituary from newspaper in Allegany, Cattagaugus County, NY: Title = Mrs. Mary Reedy Lahr Dies Tuesday at Albany Home; Text = Mrs. Mary Reedy Lahr, aged 86 years, widow of George Lahr, Jr., of Geneseo, NY, native and former resident of Allegany, NY, died Tuesday, December 16 at a hospital in Albany. Her husband died at Geneseo May 22, 1912, at the age of 50 years. Mrs. Lahr was born here on the Reedy farm on the North Nine Mile, near the Rock Cut in 1861, the daughter of John Reedy, Sr., and Agnes Reedy. Her father died November 13, 1907, at the age of 88 years while her mother passed away at Geneseo November 24, 1918, aged 85 years. Mary was one of eight children of the original Reedy family, all of whom have passed away with the exception of one daughter. Surviving are her two sons, George Lahr, Jr., of Royal Oak, MI, and Claude Lahr of Gloversville; one sister, Mrs. Catherine Clancy of Bradford, PA; also many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews, incl! uding Danniel F. Reedy of North Fifth street who is a nephew. The remains were brought to Allegany where funeral services were held at St.l Bonaventure church last Saturday morning at 7:30 o'clock. Rev. Jordan Brown, OFM, pastor, was celebrant of the mass, and the remains were laid at rest beside her husband in the Allegany cemetery on Maple Avenue. Pallbearers were Daniel Reedy, Sr., Daniel Reedy, Jr., Albert B. Collins and George Wells.
