I have ordered the 1855 State Census for Catt. Co. This will save me from having to look in Olean itself. When di Olean become a city? If you have time to look at land records, that would be wonderful. Nathan is said to have died in or near Olean, as a result of a doctor's error after he broke his leg....opiate improperly administered during the setting of the leg. The family left Washington Co., ME on Oct. 9, 1854 and are on the 1860 census in Potter Co., PA (without Nathan, of course). Might there be a death record in Catt. Co.? He had 13 living children at the time - oldest was Lemuel, born in 1832; then Levi, Nathan A., Leah, Ichabod, Jotham Sewell, Hannah, John, Caroline, Sheldon Gray, Achsah, Henry C., & Elma (born in 1854)
