From your posting it would seem very possible Nathan was in one of the many small towns around Olean which was a major hub in this area at that time. Unfortunately I don't have an index to the whole county. At least you now know he wasn't in Olean at the time. There are good land and probate records for this county in Little Valley, NY and I'll take a look the next time I get over which may be a few weeks.
