Deansville; Born 13 Oct 1818, in Cattaraugus Co, NY, town of Perrysburg; son of Lyman RANNEY, who died in Feb 1879, aged 85; his grandfather, Abner RANNEY, a native of Mass., died in Oneida Co, NY, about 1865, age 103. Philo came to WI in 1842; located in the town of York (Dane Co), then went ot Kane Co, IL and lived 2 1/2 years. He returned to WI and was married, 26 Oct 1845, to Sally Ann THOMPSON, dau of William THOMPSON, of Cattaraugus Co, NY. Philo and Sally Ann had nine children: Francis, Orcelia, Mary Ella, Sarahette, Oscar, Seymour, Clara, Adell and Adalena. Hope this helps someone.
