NY artist, wife MARY age 27 Keeping house, b. NY ( fa. b. Germ, mo. b. Ire) children: Nellie age 10, Manly age 6, Morris age 1; mother: Philo Mathenoson age 83, b. NY, fa and mo b. CT; also lists: ELLEN LAFFERTY age 21, sister in law, b. NY ( domestic servant) fa. b. Germ mo. b. Ire. This indicates to me that Ellen Lafferty and Mary Carpenter are sisters. Does anyone have any clue to these two girls parents? This information can be found by doing a search of census records on the LDS family search web site, under 1880 census records.
