"'In the midst of life we are in death.' Whenever the 'Grim Reaper' gathers to himself one of our friends, young or old, we are brought to realize the frailty of human life and how easily the silver cord is loosed. When the sad news was passed around on Sunday morning, October 19th, that Gordon Davis had passed from his heavenly home, the whole community mourned, for he was a bright, active boy and by his genial disposition and winning ways endeared himself to all who knew him. He was in good health until a few days before his death, when he was taken slightly ill and gradually grow worse, until it developed into peritionitis and all that medical skill and loving hands could do was done, but they could not avert the 'Death Angel'. Gordon was the only son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Davis of McKinstry, and have just passed his eleventh birthday. He was born in McKinstry and had spent his entire life in that place. He leaves to mourn their loss, a father, mother, sister, an aged grandfather and grandmother, besided a host of relatives and friends. The funeral was held at the family home on Tuesday, October 19th conducted by Rev. Mason of Delevan Baptist Church. Burial in McKinstry cemetery. The bereaved family have the sympathy of the entire community"
