This is handwritten in the front of a scrapbook donated to a local family history center: Mary Pixley Death has again visited our home and taken Mary, the eldest daughter of Hiram Pixley. She was born April 18, 1891, and died Nov. 15, 1908, making her a little over 17 years of age. Mary was never strong, but everything that loving hands could do was done. She bore her sufferings patiently, and never complained and her bright, amiable disposition made her many warm friends. She leaves to mourn her loss her father and two sisters, Hazel and Florence. Services were held in the M. E. church at Delevan Nov. 16. Rev Tubbs officiating. This bereavement in doubly sad, as her mother died a few weeks before.
