I'm not related to this family, but this leads me to the question -- I had ancestors who lived in Machias, but I didn't know there was a "West Machias". Is that a different town than Machias, or just the west side of Machias? Does anyone know what the population of Machias was, say ca 1850? How about Yorkshire?
