Whiting, 66, passed away at his home at 309 E. Hermosa Street Wednesday night following a long illness. Death was due to hardening of the arteries. The Christian Science funeral services will be held at the Webb Undertaking Parlors tomorrow morning at 11:00 o'clock. Interment will take place at Olive Cemetery. Mr. Whiting had been failing in health for the past nine months and was confined to bed since July. Mr. Whiting was born on May 28, 1861, at Delevan, NY but has resided here for the past fifteen years with the exception of one year's residence in the Strathmore district. He was a man highly respected and had many friends. A gifted musician, he was for many years a member of a band in his younger days. Surviving are the wife, Mary A. Whiting; a daughter, Mrs. R.H. Pierce of Buffalo, NY and two sons, Merle Whiting of San Francisco, and G.D. Whiting of St. Petersburgh, Fla. Mrs. Pierce came to Lindsay to be with her father and was here at the time of his passing. She will return East in a couple of week.
