I am not related to the family, but wante to post this for any relatives: "Eugene Zeffers of this place, a lifelong resident, met with a fatal accident at Springville on the morning of July 4th, when in attempting to board a south bound fast freight on the B. R. & P. R. R., fell under the train, severing his head, one arm, breaking the other, and injuring his body in a frightful manner. The body was brought to West Valley by Weismantel Bros., undertakers and taken to the home of his father Mr. Christ Zeffers, from where the funeral services began, which were conducted by St. Johns Catholic Church. Rev. John Buzer, officiating. Internment in St. Johns R. C. cemetery, West Valley. Eugene Zeffers was born in this town and was 31 years old and five months old. His life was spent here where personally he was well liked. His parents and seven brothers and sisters survive him. Life had not given him generously of its gifts, but we feel sure that it is well with him now."
