    3. Hi, I would like to thank you for posting this information, and ask our list members if they have any knowledge of who this "Mrs. Mary Worden, of this place" might have been. My ancestors, John Worden and Esther (Whiting) Worden were residing in Yorkshire, Cattaraugus County, NY in the 1850 census with their Worden children. By 1855, the family seems to have split up, as the children are living in homes of friends and relatives, with no sign of John Worden or his wife Esther (Whiting) Worden. Likewise, the two youngest children in this family are missing in the Yorkshire census. I now realize that Esther Worden apparently married a Clark(e) man (possibly in/near Yorkshire) sometime after that 1850 census, and before 1 April 1855, as I have found a marriage certificate for "Widow" Esther Clark(e) and Richard B. Nuzum in Marion County, Virginia (now West Virginia). The 1860 census shows Richard Nuzum and his bride Esther (Whiting) Worden Nuzum and her two small Worden children using the Clark(e) surname, in Marion County, Virginia (WV). I presume Esther might have married the Clarke man in/near Yorkshire, but his job took the new family to Marion County, VA where he apparently died. To make life a bit more interesting, I have found one John Worden in the 1860 and 1870 census in Orangeville, Barry County, Michigan. (He died there in 1872.) His death certificate says he was born 1808 Chautauqua County, NY, which is coincidentally, where I first find my John Worden and new bride, Esther (Whiting) Worden (Hanover and then Poland, Chautuaqua County) prior to their bringing their growing family to Yorkshire, Cattaraugus County. The 1850 census gives my John Worden's age as 42 and born in NY, so this does fit with the info on the death certificate for the John Worden who died in Barry County, Michigan. If anyone has any Worden ancestors in Cattaraugus County, I would be interested in hearing from you. Also married into my Worden line in/near Yorkshire are the following surnames: COLTON EASTLAND BABCOCK LEWIS BROOKS BEACH RYDER LAFFERTY PECK NUGENT ----- Original Message ----- From: <rsm.stahley@verizon.net> To: <NYCATTAR-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, March 16, 2003 2:59 PM Subject: [NYCATTAR] Janette Langmade Cheney > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Surnames: LANGMADE CHENEY KING DAVIS BROWN HIGGINS WORDEN > Classification: Obituary > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/RRB.2ACE/6113 > > Message Board Post: > > There is no date, or newspaper mentioned.
