I found out that he was an early settler of East Otto (on the 1955 NY State Census). He had a store there, and Dell (Endell or Udell) Leland (b 1856), Roscoe C (b 1857), Clayton N (b 1860) & Carolus (b 1858) were all born there. Other possible children were Arthur W (b 1866 in Dunkirk) and maybe Olive (B 1885? or maybe she's Roscoe's daughter?). He was born in 1827 in Morristown NJ, was in the 1830 census (Sussex County, NJ), in the 1840 census (Caledonia County, Hardwick, VT) and in the 1850 census (Morris County, Morris Twp, NJ). In 1855, he's in the NY State Census for East Otto, 1860 he's listed in Dunkirk, Chautaqua County, NY and 1865 NY State Census he's in Dunkirk. I know that he died on Mar 2, 1893 in Pomfret, and is buried in the Forest Hills Cemetery in Fredonia. His death certificate looks like the father could either be Aaron or Amos, therein lies my difficulty. Alva Tuttle's book is not certain either as the name is listed Amos B. ?? If anyone can help me, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks Gail Towne QuintessentialTenor@msn.com
