An all day meeting was held with dinner served at noon. The following officers were installed several of them by proxy, Worth Pat Master E. H. TERRY acting as installing officer and performing the ceremony in a most efficient and pleasing manner: Master, Ray SHIPMAN; overseer, Mrs. C. N. PIERCE; lecturer, Mrs. Fred ELLING by proxy; chapter, George OSGOOD; treasurer, Wales CHAMBERLIN; secretary, E. N. WILLIAMS; gate keeper, Arch FORD; Ceres, MRs. E. N. WILLIAMS; Pomona, Clara Herrick; Flora, Mrs. Fred BECKWITH; lady assistant, Mrs. Marcia FORD. Mr. and Mrs. JONES of Olean have moved into Joe ST. CLAIR's tenant house and will work on the farm for him. Mrs. F. W. ELLING was a recent guest of Mrs. H. G. HOGAN in Hinsdale. Mrs. E. H. SCOTT and daughter, Miss Mildred SCOTT left on Friday for Trinidad, Colorado, where they expect to spend a month with Mr. and Mrs. George E. SCOTT. The newly elected supervisor, O. S. KARN began his duties the last of the week. A meeting of the Maple Producer's was held in Chamberlain's hall at 1 o'clock today for the purpose of explaining the plan of the Maple Producer's Co-Operative Association, at which time O. H. CHAPIN of Salamanca presided. At a recent meeting of the town board H. T. CHESBRO was appointed to the office of constable. Mr. and Mrs. Fred ELLING entertained at 7 o'clock dinner, Mr. and Mrs. H. G. HOGUE and three children of Hinsdale, Mr. and Mrs. G. A. FARWELL and two children, Mr. and Mrs. W. J. BROWN and son of Maplehurst and Mr. and Mrs. John KRATTS. A very enjoyable social evening was spent. Mrs. L. B. OSGOOD and on, Chester, of the Five Mile were recent guests of Mr. and Mrs. F. O. BROWN Mr. and Mrs. Fred Beckwith visited Mr. and Mrs. Nathan DEIBTER on the Five Mile Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Bert CHASE were week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ira SHIPMAN. Miss Faye Allen, teacher in the Intermediate department returned from Bolivar and resumed her duties. The Primary department will be closed for two weeks more on account of the illness of Miss Pearl O. BROWN. Miss BROWN returned to her home on Sunday from the Clinic in Olean and is doing nicely. William CHAMPERLIN (sic - presumably this is meant to be Chamberlin) of Montpelier Ohio is here to visit relatives. Rev. ENTWISTLE gave a stereoptican illustration in a series of pictures of "Pilgrim's Progress" Tuesday evening in the Union church here. Truman ST. CLAIR is working for Orlo BRIGGS. Fred STEVENS of Salamanca was a business visitor at J. ST. CLAIR's on Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Fed ELLING were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ray SHIPMAN A Farmer's Institute will be held in Grange hall in Ischna (sic) on Monday January 16. The sessions begin at 10:30 am and 1:30 PM and dinner served at noon. The speakers are I. F. HALL, H. P. KING and O. H. CHAPIN. A Home Makers' Conference will also be held for the ladies. The speaker will be Mrs. Mary T. MONROE. Supervisor O. S. KARN is in Little Valley to attend the annual organization meeting. Nelson CHASE of East Aurora visited his parents here Sunday. Mrs. Althea SHERMON (sic) has returned from a visit in Portville. Walter BROWN of Maplehurst was a caller at F. O. BROWN's Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Merle FROSTs' children are ill with measles. Christopher HONSINGER and son, Clarence HONSINGER of Sardinia are guests of Mr. and Mrs. William __________ (not readable) for a few days. Mrs. N. A. BAXTER is in Buffalo. Mr. and Mrs. Walter BURTON of Fitch spent Sunday at Earl HERRICK's. William GREENING of East Aurora was home over Sunday.
