Samuel Ippolito Obit- Died 11-13-1974 Samuel Ippolito, 83, died Wednesday evening following a short illness. Born in Valledolmo, Sicily, Mr. Ippolito resided in Dunkirk, NY for 58 years, making his home at 418 Mullet St. He formerly resided in Itally. Mr. Ippolito was a retired employee of the Dunkirk Street Department. He was a member of the Holy Trinity Church and the parish's Holy Name Society. Surving are his wife Minnie Cerrie Ippolito; two daughters, Mrs. Samuel (Annette) Leon, Mrs. Anthony (Clara) Taddio, both of Dunkirk, and Mrs Anthony (Nancy) Vavo of Forestville; 26 grandchildren; four great granchildren and several neices and nephews. Mr Ippolito was preceased by son, Anthony J. Ippolito and one brother, Louis Polito and two sisters. Louis Polito Obit -Died Dec 14, 1957 Louis Polito, 529 Columbus Street, Dunkirk, NY, died Saturday afternoon in Brooks hospital following a lengthy illness. Seventy-five years old, he was a native of Valledomo, Italy and had resided in Dunkirk for the past 55 years. A member of the Holy Trinity church and the Columbus Club, Mr. Polito was employed at the Allegheny Ludlum steel plant. Surviving are his wife Mrs. Angeline Polito; a son, Anthony Joseph Polito of Dunkirk; a daughter, Mrs Samuel Chirico of Dunkirk; a brother Sam Polito of Dunkirk and five grandchildren. My Dad was Anthony Joseph Polito b. Aug 3, 1923 Born in Dunkirk, NY d. June 23, 1971 in Fort Worth, TX his father Louis (Luigi) Polito (Ippolito) b. Sept. 29, 1882 d. Dec. 14, 1957 Lived in ValledeLomo, Province of Palermo Sicilia Supposed to have landed at Ellis Island in NY 1910-1912 His father was Antonio Ippolito a grandfather-Luigi Ippolito His mother Antonea Gioia grandmother- Calogeria greatgrandfather-Salvatori Goia his brother -Salvatori Ippolito Married a Philomena Cerrie 2 sisters Calogeria Ippolito Mancuso ( she married twice but one husbands name is unknown) Rosalia My grandfather married Angela Nasca in Jan 10, 1915 her b Dec. 4,1887 d. April 9, 1974 She was from Montemaggiore Belsito province Palermo Sicilia Her father was Carlo Nasca her mother was Angela Varco Grandfather Calogerio Nasca Grandmother Maria Angela Chiappone Any help in finding my Dad's side of the family would be greatly appreciated. I am sorry I do not ahve more dates.. My Mom got this far and dates and times she could not find as she was using strictly the library and had stated that records have been burned due to wars. I recently found a cousin who did her side of the family which would have been my Grandmother's side. so I need my Grandfather's side now..
