    2. Diana - >From the Ancestry.com census images: In the 1860 Census for Machias, She is living with Frederick King, age 32, born in Germany, and William, age 3, born in New York. In 1870 Rachel and William are in Yorkshire, Cattaraugus, but the census record is very faint and I can't tell if the head of house is Frederick. He is listed as age 53, and from Prussia. Rachel is from Prussia and aged 32. In Ancestry.com they are indexed as KINGS. I hope this helps. She came to America in about 1853. Her parents were John Steffenhagen and Maria Yorsen, buried in the Maplegrove Cemetery, Machias, NY. I know very little of what happened to Rachel. She seems to have married soon after coming to the Cattaraugus area. She married an unknown King and in the 1880 census is a widow with one child, William King, born 1857, living in Yorkshire, Cattaraugus, NY. page 171C. Any information on Rachel, or her son William, or the King family she married into will be greatly appreciated.
