Hi there, I could use a lookup also if you have the time on a Jerimiah B. JONES. Not too familiar with Germany but his daughter Lydia CHAPLE - AUSTIN her 2nd marriage, had been widowed and listed on the Elmwood, Tuscola Michigan 1900 Census. It stated that her father was born in Germany. Lydia AUSTIN was born about Aug 1847 in Michigan. Her mother, Huldah DIBBLE, was listed as being born in New York on the 1900 Census and in Michigan the1880 Census. I looked up Lydia Austin in the familysearch.com and found a Lydia AUSTIN born in AUG. 1848 in Michigan. Close? But both parents are stated as being born in Michigan on the 1880 census. So who do you believe, the 1880 Census or the 1900 Census? The name of the parents given from the familysearch.com were Jerimiah B. AUSTIN and Huldah DIBBLE married 31 Dec 1843 in Fentonville(Fenton), Genesse, MI. So this gets even more confusing. So that's why I am asking for a lookup to see if that name Jerimiah B. AUSTIN appears anywhere in Germany. I found her in the 1850 Fenton, Genesse Michigan Census alone, 40 years old as Huldah AUSTIN and not with Jerimiah but with children, Jefferson age 20, Joel age 13, Olive age 6 and Lydia age 3. I think this is my Lydia AUSTIN. I wonder if they divorced or he died? On the 1880 Census under her 1st marriage name, Lydia JONES it states her father was born in Michigan. So I guess Germany is a good place as any to start. I would only have to assume he was about the same age as Lydia. Can you help at all with such little information on him? I told you more than you probably needed to know, but just incase maybe something may help. Thanks and God Bless Pam

It was used for the treatment of people with TB. The treatment for TB in those days was relativity primitive since not much was known about it. They thought that if the people could be put in a place where they could get fresh air and in the mountains it would help. In it's day it had many buildings on the property including a water tower nurses quarters etc. The main building just burned down a couple of years ago. It had been turned into apartments. Known oddly as Rocky Crest Apartments.

A big Thank You to all those who have transcribed cemetery (and other) records for the website! I am looking for info on Betsy Booth, wife of Josiah Booth. There is a female on the 1820 and 1830 census' of the right age, but not on the 1840 census. On the 1850 census the second wife (Lydia) is listed. Can someone make some suggestions for finding information on a death assumed to have occurred in Napoli between 1830 & 1840? In addition to online and filmed cemetery records, what other sources could I go to? Thanks again, Roberta _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp.
I am elated to have finally tracked down the county in NY where my BENNETTS came from. I have found them on the 1840 Census for this county, and the nail that drove the proof in was the Name "ISAAC RUGG". First of all..... Hiram & Christina Hull Bennett both born in NY left for Michigan between 1840-44 and settled there. Later they moved on and most of the family settled in Butte County, California. One of Hiram's sons would be my gg grandfather, another son was named ISAAC RUGG BENNETT, one of their neighbors in Cattaraugus county. I'm not sure if they were related to the Rugg's, but they were very close neighbors on the census. I would love to find out if anyone is researching Bennett's and if Hiram had family here in this county. Hiram is listed as being born in Fairfield, and that has always seemed to mislead me as there are a couple non-existant towns with that name.....but anyways here I am. Any clues?? thanks, John
