He was dropped off there when just a few days old. He is my g-grandfather. All we have is that he was born in Dayton and a piece of paper with the last name of AHRENS for his mothers last name. My g-grandmother is to have been married to Chauncey. Her name was Marla Pearle Baker. However we cannot find proof of that so far.We are also not able to find the names of the family that adopted him. We are assuming they are Dexters because of his name.cHAUNCEY was born in 1902 Thank You, Nancy Webb

I am searching for information/other descendants of the family of David and Nancy COOPER of the town of Ischua/Rice. In the 1850 Ischua census, their family (names and ages) are listed as follows: David 51 Nancy 52 William 20 Emeline 23 Andrew 21 Amilia 19 Sally 17 Esther 16 Ann 12 Margaret 10 Myron 16 Amilia Fisk 6 Amilia COOPER is really Arvilla who married Nathan LEARN in 1855. >From correspondence with another Cooper researcher, I believe David migrated to Cattaragus County from Stillwater, Saratoga County with other family members who settled in Perrysburg. Who were Nancy's parents? Was she Nancy PECK from Saratoga County who married a David Cooper? And who was the Amilia FISK listed in their household? Son Myron (age 40 in 1875) and wife, Polly (age 45) are listed in the 1875 census along with children Maria, Hollis, and Harvey. Any information about this family would be most appreciated! Judy

By the way, Burr Mallory was Thomas Burr Mallory b 20 Jan 1773 Woodbury Ct d c 1808 manlius Center. He had 1 one son, four daughters and 1 slave. His wife may have been Lucy as a Lucy heir to his property sold it. Charles Mallory shows up on the Tax Rolls of Manlius in 1879. Thomas B Mallory had a brother Simeon who was UEL and left for Canada where he had several heir named Thomas Burr Mallory. One was a wooden ship builder in New Brunswick. I don't have the names of the daughters unless one is Lucy.

Surnames: JOHNSON PATTERSON Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/RRB.2ACE/5875 Message Board Post: Dear Cattaraugus County Researchers! I'm doing research on some of the Johnson families of early Hinsdale, Cattaraugus cty., NY., ca. 1830s. I have copies of deed records as well as the mortgage records, but I'm afraid I've hit a brick wall. If you are willing to help, let me tell you what I'm looking for and what I know so far. I'm looking for information on Thomas (Sherman?) Johnson (he went by Sherman on most of the census records, but sometimes he went by Thomas). He was last known to have lived in Hinsdale in 1835 (1835 Census), with his wife (H?)anna Patterson (Pattison?). They had six children: 1. Hannah (b. 1824) 2. Parmelia (b. 1826) 3. Erastus (b. 1828) 4. William (b. 1829/30) 5. Sherman Jr. (b. 1832) 6. Elizabeth (b. 1836) Sometime in 1836/8 the family moved to Medina, OH, and I have a good deal of information of their life there. According to 'History of Medina, Cty, by Batson & Batey, 'Sherman' Johnson was born 1798 in Connecticut; Anna Patterson, it says, was born 1797 in New York. The 1835 Census is the only census that mentions a Sherman Johnson, however the 1830 Census of Manlius, Onandoga Cty shows a Thomas Johnson with: 1 male (under 10) 1 male (30-40) 2 females (under 10) 1 female (20-30) Also, there is a Thomas S. Johnson showing as having bought land in Onandaga County in 1813 and later selling it in 1816, according to the deed records. I can supply more information if necessary. A Thomas Johnson bought land in Onandaga cty in 1841, and later sold it in 1844--again, details can be supplied. For sometime in the 1800s-1860s, a James G. Johnson Jr. and his wife, Parmelia Johnson lived in Hinsdale (perhaps they farmed there); I believe that he was the son of the pioneer. I suspect, but don't know if, there is a relation to the family I'm searching for in virtue of the unusual name of his wife being the same name as the daughter of the Thomas S. Johnson I'm looking for. James G. had bought land in Cattaraugus cty (Hinsdale) sometime in 1835, and in the mortgage records, Parmelia is listed alone (sometime in the 1860s). Can anyone supply me with any information about this family and/or tell me if my Thomas (Sherman) Johnson is of any relation to James G. Johnson (the pioneer)? Much obliged for your time, Erik Hanson
