Jedidiah was born in 1849, place unknown, and died in 1912. He is buried in East Otto Union Cemetery with his wife Anna(maiden name unknown), b. 1853, d. 1937. They had the following children: 1. Adah b. 1872 d. 1950 m. Olliam F. Barton 2. Charles Jedidiah b. 1874 d. 1950 m. (1) Josephine E. Steadman, m. (2) Mae Burdick 3. Milli Phillips b. 1876 m. Martin Longcore 4. Archie Phillips b. 1882 d. 1950 m. Etoile M. 5. Roland Phillips b. 1890 d. 1950 m. Ella 6. Eva b. 1893 d. 1955 I feel like I'm on a wild goose chase! I have yet to find Jed in a single Census; no vital records for any of the family in the IGA; and have yet to find another Phillips family in the area with a son whose name even comes close to Jedidiah! Anything you have to offer would be greatly appreciated. - Brandy

I know that two of Lorinda Lucretia Hinman's (my great-grandmother) siblings married Beaches, and several are buried in the East Otto Cemetery which I visited last summer. Have some headstone pictures of any Beaches I could find. You may be interested in them.
I don't know if this will help either of us, but I'm also looking for a CHENEY in Cattaraugus County, albeit in Salamanca and somewhat later. According to the information I've gathered, Clifford Carleton CHENEY married Nina E. ODELL, between 1910 and 1920, most likely in Salamanca. Nina ODELL was the daughter of my great granduncle David Henry ODELL, born in Tompkins County, NY, and his wife Alice Amelia BURGHARDT, born in Broome County, NY. What stoked my interest in your message/post was the following quote from "Family History of Central NY, Volume 1". "7. Lyman Josiah Cheney, born October 11,1860, was successively druggist and dry goods merchant in Delevan, New York. In 1892 he was appointed clerk in the United States railway postal service; prominent in local politics and a supporter of the Republican party. He married in Arcade, Wyoming county, New York, March 8, 1882, Florence N., daughter of Charles and Ravilla Cagwin; children: Lloyd Lyman, born April 23, 1884; Clifford Carleton, June 17, 1887." The birthdate of Clifford CHENEY matches the ages on the 1920 and 1930 Census at the address given for Mrs. C. C. CHENEY, who was listed as the informant on the death certificates for both David and Alice ODELL. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/RRB.2ACE/5882.1.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Well, I have good news. Laura Greene has sent me the indices for both the 1855 and 1865 Catt Co censuses for which I thank her. Your PRESTONs landed in Hinsdale, just north of Olean and I see there are eight listed as family heads or individuals listed under other family heads. One exception is a Jonathan in Mansfield. I thought that might be the case as I saw a couple buried in Hinsdale but not having the Olean cemeteries available, I couldn't be sure. The easiest way for me is to make copies from the microfilm directly as I have a reader/printer. I will then mail same if you'll send me your mailing address (send to my Email address). Good luck on getting the films as some years ago I went thru a rigamaroll to get them from the Mormons. As a town historian, it seemed as though they would let me have them but I had to get the signature/approval of the county clerk before it really happened. Apparently the Mormons consider the county clerks the "keepers" of those documents. I bought the1825/1835/1845, 1855,1865, 1875, 1892, 1905 and 1915 for Catt Co. and after paying for those, decided to wait a bit before tackling Allegany Co which I will do evenually. If there is a "public" source, please let me know. Regards, Sid Emmons,Historian,Town of Lyndon
I have a Theodore C. DRAYER (1871-1942) married to Mary Luss (1871-1942) and buried in Mt. Hope Cemetery, W. Valley. I think they had two sons but I only know one was named Alfred C. (1890-1907). If there is a connection to William DRAYER please let me know as I have very little on this family.
