Maria died, leaving a young child named Anna Maria McAnally, my great grandmother. Anna Maria was raised by the Priests. If this is the right Kinney family, I have a little more information on the Priests.

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: PETTIT, FRANKLIN Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/RRB.2ACE/5899 Message Board Post: In a history of Cattaraugus County by Adams it is noted that the first murder trial in the county was with defendant John(or William) Pettit(or Petit); victim's name was Franklin; Oyer and Terminer Court, May 1826 Circuit; Judge John Birdsall of 8th Circuit presided; Pettit was acquited. My problem: according to WPA Historical Records Survey(1939), related court records(including indictments, motions, minutes), if any, for this period are located at the County Clerk's Office. I have phoned and written but have not received a response to date. I realize they probably do not have time to address this, but would appreciate any help out there on these records. Also, I have been unable to locate any Cattaraugus County newspapers for that period. Please, does anyone have any suggestions for me? Connie Stephens...email steal22@aol.com
