It sounds like you may not remember we have talked a long time ago. About the time I was talking to Karen Bush I talked to you , & seen the connection on the Searles we all share. I went to the Cadiz Cemetery in Franklinville a couple months ago & thought of you . I'm glad to hear someone else talk of a connection of the Catt. Co. Searle & the Alle. Co. families Karen said they weren't connected . I know they have to be , just not sure with which line. I live in Friendship, N.Y. & Belfast & Cuba are both 15 minutes away & there are still Searle's around, which you must know. My Searle line is getting smaller , my Mom & her oldest sister are all we have left in our family , they only have 2 cousins with very few children to carry on the name. They really only have one cousin that carries the Searle name. Nice to talk to you, Boni
As you see I am trying all the areas I knew they lived in and where some died. These people did exist but can't find anything that substantiates DAR requirements for lineage.Thank you, K. Surnames: Parr, Foulston, Harrington, Herring, Lyon, Westcott Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/RRB.2ACE/5918 Message Board Post: I would like to find out information of any kind about the early Parrs of Otsego County. My great, great grandfather, AMOS PARR, was born in Otsego County in 1807. His father was born in England and his mother was born in New Jersey. This is all the information I have about my great, great, great grandparents. I do not know their names or dates of birth. The first record I can find of a Parr in Otsego County is for JOHN PARR in the 1800 census. The household of John Parr consisted of three males under 10 years and one male and one female between 26 and 45 years old. The next record found is the 1810 census of J PARR. At this stage I do not have information about the composition of the household. The first land record is for JOSEPH PARR and ELISABETH/BETSEY PARR who purchased half an acre from Daniel Johnson in the Town of Laurens in 1812. In 1814 Joseph Parr and JOHN PARR JR purchased five acres from Moses Hoag in Laurens. In 1815 Joseph Parr sold his land to John Parr Jr. I think that Joseph Parr possibly migrated to Prince Edward County, Upper Canada. If he did, then he married a second time. His second wife's name was RUTH. John Parr Jr married LUCY HARRINGTON and they shifted to Cattaraugus County in 1831. Besides two daughters, SAREPTA AND CAROLINE, who married brothers, ELIHU and EZRA LYON, John and Lucy had a son, JOHN MORRELL PARR, who was born in 1824 and died in the same year. He is buried in the Presbyterian cemetery in Laurens. MARIA PARR who was born in 1791 married Randolph Westcott. Their daughter, THERESSA, married WILLIAM PARR and they settled in New Lisbon. They later shifted to Hartwick. William Parr was the son of JAMES PARR (1799-1741). James was born in England and became a farmer in the Town of Laurens. James Parr married MARY/POLLY FOULSTON. After James Parr's early death his wife married JAMES HERRING. James Parr had a brother named AARON PARR. They jointly owned land in THE Town of Laurens. There was also another JAMES PARR who was born in 1798 and died in 1811. He is buried in the Presbyterian cemetery in Laurens. It is now clear that there were two Parr families in Laurens in the early 1800s. At this stage I do not know who belonged to which family or how they were related. I think one family was headed by John Parr Sr and the other possibly by Joseph Parr. Any information that would help move me on in my search would be greatly appreciated.

His father was John Prentiss Calkins. John Prentiss Calkins had 11 children. Some along with Harris moved up to the New York/Vermont area. Do you know who the father of your William Calkins is????. John Prentiss Calkins had a son named William (b.1791) according to the data given to me which I have not proven yet. Your William could be a grandson of this William.

Foot, age 34 Alzora, age 29 Charlotte, age 12 George H., age 6 Calvin T., age 4 Wayne County, New York was carved from Ontario and Seneca counties. So, the county records for Wayne County, New York date back to apporximately 1823. On January 30, 1864, Alanson Calvin Foote enlisted in the 18th Regiment of Michigan Volunteers (Infantry). The enlistment records showed his birthplace as Lebanon, Massachusetts and his age as 45. On approximately May 15, 1864, Alanson Calvin Foote died of smallpox in United States General Hospital Number 11 and was buried in the National Cemetery, Nashville, Tennessee. Alanson Calvin Foote's wife was Alzora Thomas (April 17, 1826 - September 12, 1909). Alzora Thomas was the daughter of Ezra Thomas, a veteran of the War of 1812. After Alanson Calvin Foote's death, Alzora married Henry Myers. Alzora died in Fork Township, Mecosta County, Michigan. Alzora's death certificate showed the name: Rachel Alzora Myers. Alzora was buried on September 14, 1909 in Brown Cemetery, block 7, lot 8. Alzora's parents were Ezra and Abi (Aba?) Thomas. Ezra was born ca. 1774 in Massachusetts. He lived in Williamson, Wayne County, New York. In the 1850 New York Census, Ezra was 76 years old and Abi was 73 years old. Abi died in 1856 and is buried in the Furnaceville Cemetery in Ontario, New York. At the time of Alzora's death in 1909, 4 of her 7 children were still living. Some of the children of Alanson Calivn Foote and Alzora Thomas were: 1. Charlotte Foote (April 13, 1843 - January 22, 1920). Born in New York, Charlotte married Cornelius C. Rhoades (1836 - August 15, 1894). Charlotte (Foote) Rhoades died in Saranac, Ionia County, Michigan. 2. George Henry Foote (1849 - 1927). Born in New York, George Henry Foote married Lucy S. Cowley in 1871. He died in Chippewa Township, Mecosta County, Michigan. 3. Calvin Thomas Foote (1851 - 1934). Born in New York, Calivn Thomas Foote married Rachel Aretta Bedell in 1873. He died in Williamston, Michigan. Please note that the Foote genealogies show others named Alanson Foote living in the New York and Massachusetts region in the 1800's. This might explain why Alanson Calivin Foote chose to be recorded as Calvin A. Foot in the 1855 New York Census. Military records show variations in names that may or may not the same person, such as: (1) Alanson Calvin Foote (2) Alonzo C. Foot (3) A. O. Foot (4) Anse O. Foot (5) A. C. Foot (6) Alonzo Foot (7) Alanson Foot (8) Anson O. Foote. Hopefully, these additional details will aid genealogists in documenting the correct ancestors of Alanson Calvin Foote.
