    1. [NYCATTAR] Wade - Wing - White
    2. Andrew C. White
    3. Hi Folks, My maternal Great-Great-Grandparents George Wade, reportedly b. Apr. 21, 1829, Madison Co., NY, and Lucetta Wing, b. May 29, 1830, Eagle, Wyoming Co., New York, and reported to have been married, Oct 12, 1851 in Franklinville, Cattaragus Co., NY. They later migrated to Wisconsin, at least by the 1880 census. Lucetta's parents, Elnathan Wing and Myra Morgan, in Franklinville in 1866 and 1841 respectively. Any information regarding these folks and their families would be greatly appreciated. Also, in an unrelated item, my paternal great-great-great-grandfather William White is reported to have died in Yorkshire Sep. 15, 1865. I do not know where he is buried or how long he lived there. He lived in many towns in western New York (mostly Erie, Ontario, Wayne) prior to dying in Yorkshire. If anyone has any ideas where he might be buried it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Andrew C. White

    1. [NYCATTAR] Where Can I Search???
    2. My ancestors were living in Allegany and Cattaraugus Counties NY from prior to 1810 census through 1850 but I have never been able to find where they came from before living here or who their parents are. I am at a wall and have exhausted all research materials ( that I know of) and am trying to find additional resources. > I have searched most of the following: > Census records 1810 through 1850 (I know they left before 1860) > Minard's and Beer's history books > Ancestry.com and Rootsweb > Family search site > Film from the FHC: court records; > Land records I have not searched but will when I can obtain the > correct dates from the FHC > The Painted Hills site; both Allegany and Cattaraugus US Gen web > sites > And numerous postings on the internet > I have found some information from the above sources. > If anyone could supply me with names of other books, records, and etc that > might assist me in finding some information I would appreciate it very > much. > > Thank you for reading my posting. > > Sincerely Frank Hotaling

    1. [NYCATTAR] CONGDON, Philander and John H
    2. There is a J. H. Congdon (born in 1813 in NY) buried next to my grandfather (Lon Eston Congdon) in Dallas Cemetery, Iowa. My grandfather's father was Philander Congdon (born Oct 24, 1836 in Freedom, Cattaraugus Co, NY). J. H. is obviously some relation but I seem to have hit a wall. I am suspecting maybe a father to Philander. Any help appreciated.

    1. [NYCATTAR] Mary SMITH of Machias
    2. I am inquiring for a friend. Mary SMITH of Machias was born in 1872 and died in 1891. She was the wife of Manley WEBBER and is buried in Maplegrove Cemetery in Machias. Her tombstone is a small one which reads M. A. Webber 1872 - 1891. Does anyone know who her parents were? My friend descends from their daughter. Thank you--any clues will be appreciated!

The Wellington in my tree lived in Cattaraugus Co NY after the Civil War and about 40 years later (I believe) sent a post card to my ggrandfather Addison in ILL. In the card Wellington asks his nephew Addison to come visit in NY. The only connection to Wisconsin I know of for my family line was Daniel Marble's father attempted to move his family to Wisconsin but returned to NY where Daniel married a Hugoboon. That was Alzada Hugoboon and they moved to ILL. I remember seeing the Edwin/Silena union in the census records of Cattaraugus Co. With no direct connection it looks like Wellington and Wellington might be cousins. I see a lot of Perkins, Hugoboon, and Marble intermarriage and traveling together and now it looks like shared first names - Wellington, Alzada
